  1. Re:Interesting... on Behind the Scenes With America's Drone Pilots · · Score: 2, Interesting

I don't see the material difference between spying on people with a manned plane versus an unmanned plane other than the location of the pilot. Why should I be more worried about the government spying on me with a Predator than a U2 (which by the way have been around over 50 years)?

How exactly are you shocked when you suffer abuse after labeling an entire community with a pejorative word like "sexist". Also should we really take advice on discrimination from a guy who obviously thinks being called homosexual is abuse.

  7. Re:Actually, you're a good example of that. on FOSS Sexism Claims Met With Ire and Denial · · Score: 1

I won't deny that there are sexists in the FOSS community, but what I'm more interested in is if a higher percentage of men in the FOSS are sexists than the general population. I'd be willing to guess at LEAST 20% of males in the general population hold sexist attitudes. I bet you would be surprised by the number of women who are sexist against women too.

  9. Re:Wrong Question on Design Starting For Matter-Antimatter Collider · · Score: 1

If you could create antimatter at least 50% efficiency and already have the matter to annihilate it with then you will come out with a net energy gain. The problem would be capturing that energy, which IIRC is mostly neutrinos. Also I'm willing to bet the efficiencies are much lower than 50%.

  10. Incompetence Malice on FBI Investigates Liberator of Court Records · · Score: 1, Interesting

The most likely explanation for this is that some FBI employees who were ignorant to the fact that this was legal decided to run his name through their database and probably figured out he wasn't some evil-doer stealing court records. Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

So your proof that IPv4 address exhaustion isn't going to happen is to provide a bunch of sources that say (except the EC) that it is going to happen next year and current predictions are that it will be 2 years from now. Only a year off in trying to predict something 10 years in the future sounds like pretty good accuracy to me.
