    I'm your age and when I think of Reagan I think of the Iran Contra scandal (which marks the beginning of my political awareness). I feel like I've never really known honest and open government in this country, and wonder if it ever actually existed. I'd certainly like to see it sometime before 2029.

    Since 2003, the FCC no longer accepts applications for LPFM stations. Even so, those licenses were never available to individual broadcasters.

    Like the huge swath of real estate that's supposed to open up in the VHF bands.
    Unfortunately most of that is earmarked for corporate interests (without public discussion, really?).

    At this point the FCC is so far gone from its original purpose, I say bring on the pirates.

    How much disconnect is there between the DoJ finding search strings interpreted by them as criminal activity, and their demanding the IP addresses that made them? And why do so many people still trust the intentions of our government?

    I don't buy this. There is obviously profit to be made. But the Chinese knowing there is content out there that other governments let their citizens have is enough to add some kindling to a real democratic movement. Why are we holding Google to a higher standard than anyone else adheres to? Just because of the motto? This could do some actual good in a few years time. Censoring the internet is a fool's errand anyhow. Determined people will find a way to get what they want.

    This movie is being promoted via blogspace with private screenings and who knows what other incentives for those who mention and promote it. First the poll, now the article. Maybe it's a good movie, but this astroturf hyping is kind of lame. It is suspect.
