    Windows XP may not bluescreen from software faults anymore, but it still eats it's boot partition if you add/remove USB devices while booting or shutting down, i have personally witnessed this three times on three different computers made by three different vendors within the space of six months.

    It happened to me with a USB keyboard, the guy across the hall with a USB flash drive, and a lab computer with a usb flash drive. My machine is an eMachines Athlon XP, the guy across the hall was a Dell Intel (can't remember pentium or celeron), and the lab machine was an old 900 Mhz Athlon Thunderbird.

    We need reform, we need an amendment to the constitution that no person shall be subject to Imprisonment unless they violate the rights of another person, people need to go to jail, but not the people who are going to jail, murderers should go to jail, rapist should go to jail, thieves should go to jail, and most of all about 85% of the congress should go to Jail

    IIRC there is a great Jewish tradition of getting around dogma on technicality, such as a prohibition against counting people in attendance at the synogogue(sp?) and so it is "not 1, not 2, not 3"

    what about those chemical barcode flakes? years ago i saw something about them being used to mark explosives for tracking, microscopic flakes which contain different patterns of colors when inspected under a microscope, just spray them on with an adhesive? I'm not Jewish so would that be acceptable for a Torah scroll?

    meh, koran 1.0 is highly unstable and unmaintainable, progress is slowed and there is a high frequency of random explosions and corruption. rather wipe the system and try a smaller and more streamlined system like Discordia 1.0 beta.

    they probably use hardware signed images, i know several camera manufacturers make digital cameras for evidence gathering which sign the original image to prove that it wasn't tampered with.

    however you did intent to drive drunk, which resulted in death, and leaving tires out sounds like a property code, with a civil fine rather than going to jail. involuntary manslaughter again requires you to be doing something you shouldn't have which caused someone to die.

    accidental breaches of the law are not criminal, as a crime requires intent, now behaving recklessley is different because the crime is being reckless and causing harm, if you did not intend to do perform an acxtion which is criminal, you are not guilty of a crime.

    this has nothing whatsoever to do with "ignorance of the law is no excuse", "ignorance..." means that if you don't know an action is illegal you are still liable to be prosecuted, not that you can be prosecuted for something you didn't know you were doing at all.

    (IANAL) I believe retroactive monetary damages are only available for registered works, otherwise only ordering to cease infringement and damages for refusing to cease infringment are available.

    maybe I wasn't clear... it looks like shit, the pixels may not be warped, but they are still huge and somewhat blurry (I don't think they bother auto-adjusting the monitors)

    it is likely that they will change firmware on currently unshipped units, and possibly release firmware updates, because if word gets out that your DVR won't record the superbowl and your biggest competitor's DVR will record the superbowl, take a guess who will soon be filing for bankruptcy
