And what do you think happened here? It's maddening to work some of these long term implementation projects as government support staff is routinely changed causing delays in key decisions. Then requirements get changed along with the personnel changes. Duke Nukem might be a very apt description of what happened on these large projects. In addition to trying to do REALLY hard things with technology that just isn't quite there yet at on a scale most don't really understand.

In my mind I think the perfect screen size would be in the 4.5-4.7 inch range. Here is the kicker though let's up the resolution on these things. The Note is interesting not only because of the size but it has decent resolution (1280X800) and the iPhone 4s (960X640). I'm not generally an Apple fan but man they nailed it when they upped the resolution. I think the next phone/phablet that gets me to 1900X1080 resolution gets my dollars. If that's a 5 incher so be it.

When I'm traveling for business firing up a quick game before bed becomes a lot more of a hassle if I now have to rent internet service for it. Also I don't want to sign up for another service. Steam was pushing it, I just can't do Orion too. That probably means the next Dragon Age release is out for me as well. Oh well.

Today you'd look and buy it because you expect it to get to 150K minimum and 10-15 years. I wouldn't have said that about cars even 10 years ago. I would say that speaks volumes about the quality of vehicles being made today.

Keep in mind I haven't used them yet and can't give any first hand accounts on them but the school uses them so to provide continuity with the learning experience that is what I will do as well. That might be a good place for you to start as well. Talk to the local elementary school and find out what they use. If it had opened the device up to all network providers then we would all ho-hum it and move to another provider. It's Apple's desire to maximize it's control and limit options that is the true culprit here. And if they didn't foresee this as a potential issue shame on them.

Contrary to popular belief it's not an issue of actually paying someone as little as possible for as much work you can squeeze out of them (well in the places that I've worked). When looking to see if money is THE motivating factor you know that the person you are hiring is gone as soon as they get another offer of more money. It costs a lot to make a hire and if you make the wrong hire you've set your self and your organization back because of it. It can take weeks/months to get someone up to speed and contributing and if you loose them after 9 months because all they care about is money you've made a really bad hire.

I would expect that the answer is that most of us really only listen to radio in the car (well at least in the circles that I run that's the case.) When I'm at work it's a stream or music file, and at home it's the same. For the most part people don't like replacing the OEM car radio with a new one. Colors don't match, steering wheel controls don't work, looks like an add on, etc. So that's why I expect it really hasn't caught on. Most people aren't going to replace their car for an HD radion. What's really confusing to me though is why HD radio isn't standard equipment on all new cars. That's the real head scratcher. For what it's worth I had head unit in one of my past cars replaced with an HD radio. You're spot on with the AM stations. I found that while moving the HD signal dropped often and there was an annoying delay when auto switching to the analog signal. I liked it, but when I bought my new used car I didn't feel the need to replace the radio. I still have it if anyone is interested.
