that CDR's and MP3's dont affect the number of CD sold? I know plenty of people who just burn MP3's onto CD's instead of buying the album as this technology has become available. I've done it myself. And thats only a small example of what must be happening in the wider community.
... on the door or on the living room window saying "This Home Protected by H-bomb" will discourage IRS investigators, census takers, and Jehovah's Witnesses.
I'm glad S3 is back in contention. I have and am still using a S3 Savage 3D card which was fantastic value when I got it 3 years ago. Of course a Delta Chrome would be nice about now.. But I dont think my computer would handle it so well, what with its GPU being faster than my CPU.
So not only do the cars they drive to get to the conference emit ozone depleting gasses, but can you imagine 10,000 scientists rabbiting on?? That's way more hot air!
"apparantly, the U.S. is opposing a french site because France opposed the war in Iraq."
We stand of the verge of a human milestone. Fusion power for all, cheap, clean and long lasting. We just need some more technology to get there.
But the US arguing about where the reactor is going to go, and their argument that France didn't support their last 'crusade' is not helping anyone.
The argument for reactor placement should depend on resources, knowledge, safety and economic viability, and not on who is 'chummy' with who.
Should the reactor project turn out to be unworkable, which I don't think it will be, I wouldn't be suprised if the US pointed their finger at another country with a high pitched squeal of
"They started it!!"
It's the type of childish attitude we've come to expect from them.
I'm sorry is that a picture of a robat dancing with fans on that page? Haaha thats awesome. How long will it be before we have robots around the house to cook, clean and entertain us as well?
Doesn't anyone see the opportunity here for companies to use this cheaper process to maximise profit for themselves? Cheaper production doesnt necessarily mean cheaper consumer products. Especially if there is a high demand.
"Iraq is now a blank, unformatted hard disk and can be loaded with anything."
It's an interesting comparison, but Irag is hardly blank. There is residue from the old regime all through the country. Some of the old ministers for the state are still in power, being left there by the US because they have the widest knowledge of the system. None of those who are in power now are being charged with war crimes of course.
Iraq is unformatted however, and at the moment any attempt to bring formation is met with terrorist activity. Water and power installations are being blown up by small pockets of rebels.
Iraq needs to be loaded with some anti-virus software before proper utility programs can be loaded sucessfully.
Think of the liability those companies are putting themselves in by paying 'employees' to play games for 12 hours a day.
Everyone knows computer screens arent great for your eyes. If the guys gaming develop eye problems because of this, they will sue.
The Japanese magleve trains have been reported on Slasdhdot science page already. Apparently they are having huge successes with their projects.

Earth will be a complte mess if our poles shifted. Say goodbye to any type of satellite communication or gps system. Even your old fashioned compass would be 180 degrees off:)
The japanese already have oe. It has been clocked at 581 kmph on a speed run. The americans should spend more time befrending the japanese or employing some of their engineers, rather than wasting the money they have so far with no results.

I'd better go stock up on water again in case everything falls apart then...

Chinese spam has that distinct oriental flavour and now comes in low fat single serve tins.

Yeah they are pretty harsh with their system. If its not funny... down you go :(
A friend of mine asked how he could change the default Sim language from French to english. Not knowing that the Sims speak jibberish.

He's a horrible, shocking, lying, brutal dictator... But enough about George Bush
If the americans search long and hard enough they will always find and arrest their targetsed weapons of mass destruction.
