That's not fair--they get some decent packaging. The classic controller I bought was in that kind of plastic that only a very sharp knife can cut through, and then you have to pull it apart hoping not to cut your hands or break the cable. Just give me a box with tape on it please.
I see... so if my mom divorces my dad, and my mom and I decide that we love each other romantically and want to get married, shouldn't the state allow that by your definition? Where does it stop? If you say "Oh, but incest is illegal," well why is it? By whose standards? By whose morals? Yes there are biological reasons, but what of a son and father? Mother and daughter? There is a point where there is a moral basis for many of our laws.
Let me first say that Christians are in sin if they treat someone poorly for being gay. Jesus said, "let him without sin cast the first stone." He also said not to get the speck out of your neighbor's eye until you get the log out of your own eye. In all ways He walked in love toward everyone around Him.
Yes, the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. People say that I am intolerant of gays because I am Christian, but that is not true at all. I have friends who are gay, but I will never say that it is not a sin. At the same time I will not condemn someone for it, but I try to give them the truth that I have found--
People who say it is genetic do not understand the change that a person makes when he makes Jesus the lord of his life. This is something the world doesn't understand. The desire to obey God and be more like Him overcomes any desire of my flesh.
I can attest to what you said about the Archos player. I have the Archos Multimedia Jukebox (20GB) which does a fine job of playing mp3's, but it's just a little too big to carry around in your pocket and the battery life isn't that great. It's a nice little device in that it can do many things, the problem is it just doesn't do any of those things extremely well (I cannot speak for any newer models that have come out).
This is why I am buying an iPod. I want to listen to music and I want something that can last longer and will fit in my pocket better. It can't do nearly as much as the Archos player, but what it does do, it does much better.
Being of the slashdot type, I was always a little concerned on when I would have to throw a grenade, as throwing is not one of my strong points. During practice I would just barely get it past the line. Obviously it turned out okay when I threw the real thing, but I remember one of my friends telling me how he noticed that one of the explosions was louder than the others.:-|
Good thing I'm a 74B (computer guy) and not infantry.
Unfortunately, what you just described, as effective as it would be (and as easy as it is), would still be too difficult for some people to understand. They'll just forget what the paper is for and not even feed it into the machine, hence screwing up your backup paper trail.
...until they successfully go sub-orbital and people are willing to pay a few million to go up. Then I would think Boeing and Lockheed might be interested in some R&D, or maybe even try to buy Scaled. If Scaled starts to turn up some profit in space tourism, I'm sure that will turn some heads. (here's hoping!)
Have college professors give the task of writing voting software as a group assignment. Tell them it's work 40-50% of their grade. I'm sure we would get far better results than what the Diebold people are making. Also, cost to taxpayer: $0. Then hire some competent (and way in debt) grad students to do maintenance.
Do you honestly think that they would go through all the trouble of sending people to Mars without thinking of putting a geologist or two on board? A few moments of human observation can reveal things that neither of the two rovers will find in their entire journey (Disclaimer: IANAG). Although to your credit, I'm sure that a great deal of their time would involve maintenance just so they can survive.
Is there anyone else out there who remembers playing World War III on Commodore BBS's? I'd love to play that game again. It was so simple, but who could resist the joy of nuking your buddie's country?
Oh and was I the only one who pictures a bizzare version of The Perfect Storm when reading about those waves, a more boring movie with less waves and it takes longer to climb each one. I think Hollywood should begin pre-production in May.
I think you're on to something! Imagine, we could send Bruce Willis, George Clooney, and Mark Walhberg into space to harvest ethane in titan's oceans. They all get caught in the 70-80ft waves and die. I think it would sell pretty well.
No I think the parent had it correct. There would be an overflow of incoming pigeons, making it so that no pigeons could go the other way. I think a shotgun would be more like a firewall...

What, still no ogg vorbis support??
I don't think I will be buying one until it has OGG.

This is just another medium for people to port goatse.cx to.
That must really suck when you leave your money in the car on a hot summer day, huh?
Ah, yes, the grenade throw...

I understand ye enthusiasm, matie. After all, who doesn't like to talk like a pirate? At least we only have four and a half more months to wait, eh?
ARRRR!!
Over 100,000 servers? Amazing... I wonder then how many pigeons they must have, and where do they get them all?

So you are saying we should slit warez distributors with a sharp blade to ensure more don't pop up?
For those in more sensitive environments, be aware that the link in the parent post contains some porn ad banners.

I think people are just saddened that it will be so soon. "I know it's gonna suck.... but I... can't resist..!!"
Maybe he's talking about getting in the queue early for downloads via IRC. Those queues can get pretty nasty wait times.

...Well I've been doing it since windows 3.1!
Hmm, this makes me wonder why 3.11 wouldn't have been 3.1.1. Seems much more accurate that way.

So how long until the author of this book complains to the Mozilla foundation for trademark violation?
