I hardly ever buy magazines from bookstores, but I think I'll go pick this one up.
I loved Morrowind, and this is just gonna be even better. Hopefully theyll be able to balance the game better as well, there were alot of cheap ways to level up.
I also find it very annoying when my (Xbox) friends say they can't wait for Morrowind 2. (But can you really blame them?:P )
OK, so where has Vivendi been? Seems kind of strange that they would complain about Steam now, 18 months after its realease. Another tatic by VALVe to delay the game?
Wow, I thought publishers couldn't get any more ignorant. CD protection in no way stops piracy, even someone with dosn't know much about computers can google "play sims 2 without cd". It's just a huge annoyance.
Now EA has gone and done this, making you actually uninstall software to play their game. I'm just glad I decided to stop buying or playing EA games long ago.
I havn't read any of the other comments yet, but if anyone brings up pirating, this has nothing to do with it. No company has ever made a CD Key/Lock/Security that someone hasn't found a way around (except for online authentication) so I don't see how this is any way helping to stop piracy, ahh its pointless I'm just gonna stop typing (lol...)
I'm really really hoping this to be at the $100-130 range, I've been putting off buying a PS2 becuse there are only a few games that I would want for it (FFs, DDRs)
I think its because of the huge game companies like EA and Vivendi, who have the money to spend millions marketing a game, and any game now that dosn't have this big budget marketing gets left in the dust, even though it may be a much better game. Lots of people are dumb, and buy games because they have a recognizable name, either because it being a sequal or by advertising. New ideas, "risks", are being thrown out to make way for more stable products like sequals or movie-based games. Why would they risk losing millions when they could get a guarenteed profit?
I havn't seen it, but I would guess it is just the leaked version from last year, or just the Steam cache file which is encrypted, so theres no point to downloading it outside of Steam.
Looking forward to seeing a game engine used for something other than a game. Hey, some day soon I bet Hollywood will be using game engines for their special effects, as it'll all be rendered in real time, which will save time.
I thought that at first, but if the physics of the new engine are really used well in designing it, It could totally change the game.
Other engine improvements like the new hitboxes, weapon recoil, ricochets (and anything else you can think of affected by a new engine) could really affect the gameplay.
I can imagine ducking behind a box only to have it shot through in front of me...or breaking a hole in a box somewhere to hide. (There are alot of crates in HL/CS...)
To me, CS:S is all about the physics and engine not the visual graphics.
Cybercafes are paying around $10 a month per computer to be in the cybercafe program. Valve wants to give them all the benefits they can so they'll feel its worth the price.
If you've ever tried Red Hat (Fedora) or Mandrake, its just as easy to install as windows. Boot off the CD, set you timezone/keyboard/mouse options, choose packages to install (or a default package set) , and click next. It's up and running soon after.
He's talking about sites that require you to register to read news off it, like the New York Time's page. I've never registered there and most likely never will. It's are a huge annoyance and its quicker to look somewhere else.

Don't everyone all comment at once. Anyway, 05 has top notch graphics as usual.
Half Life (and its mods) has had this for years, HLTV. You can just open up the spectate tab in Steam under servers and there they are.

And I'm cheap :p
I thought the same thing. I've always had better looking font in Linux than windows especiallly non-English language fonts.

Was kinda scary the first time I trired it.

Man...Blade Runner was on last night on Spike but I watched Event Horizon on SciFi instead...I'd never seen either, but Event Horizon was OK.
Step 3: Install Gentoo
It would be great if some of the dancing games like DDR could add in hand motions to the dance steps.

I remeber hearing somewhere that multiplayer was cut from the game. Did they ever get around to putting it in?

I mean like cell phone mounts, where it will snap in and recharge etc.
Another reason for a GBA car mount in addition to watching Spongebob on long trips... :D
With that said, there is usually only minimal to no decrease in performace when using Wine.
Well, if you use Windows you might as well color your monitor blue.
