    Im sticking with yahoo for now....

    Its the most reliable out there: Hotmail doesnt always work, thats why I switched to yahoo.

    Yahoo is fast. when i send an email, its to its destination instantly, With hotmail, it usually took over an hour.

    Gmail sounds ok: Not sure about the privacy issues...but if gmail made it possible to email LARGE attachments (>100megs)... that would be sweet.

    Yahoo has about the best spam filter out there for a free service... and since spam gets sent to a special "bulk" folder, it doesnt count toward your quota...neither does "trashed" messages... its ok, you get that 100 megs all to yourself for free....

    Ruralites again are scorned by the lack of broadband access where there are no cable lines (and since there are no cable lines, this often means no dsl due to distance, or just no dsl providers [or both as in my case]).

    WHen will broadband companies truly serve the populace by providing broadband capability to all, not just the city folk?

    Well, its obvious that the HAMs out there hate BPL. Well then, what happens to us ruralites? I still sit here at home with my juno account dialing away to connect at friggin 44K ....

    I see as the town people get their cable, get their DSL and are chugging away....
    where am I?

    Sitting back with my Yugo class internet....

    Can we get some plausible alternatives? I mean, cellular, satellite and broadcast internet are great ideas, but some currently cost $60/month for inferior service...

    ..also many of these rumors of broadcast wireless internet seem years and years off ...I GIVE UP!!!

    now to wait 5 minutes for this submission to go thru...

    Since I don't drink and am against alcohol totally I will have to do the following things to start my car.

    --sit down and buckle up (wait thats not a part of the system..so I dont have to do it right?)
    --hum and blow into a tube

    and then, when i'm driving, I will periodically be required to:

    --RETEST?? (yea, and we thought talking on cell phones was bad)

    And thats not it folks... Basically it looks like this requires me to NOT do my own work (ie documented servicing), also if it determines that I havent been a good boy three times, I have to go check in with big brother....

    I have some serious issues with this... what about emergencies?? Like I need to get someone to the hospital, but no... i have to wait and hum in to a frickin tube while someone is dying in my seat...

    or... what if some drug dealers are chasing me, yea, i get into my car and try to start it up to get away...I'm sorry, but you have not submitted your breath test. ... yea tell that to the people going to kill me...


    This is technology gone wrong...Legislation gone wrong...
    I'm all for stiffer penalities for DUI/DWI (including drug influence).. Like how bout taking their car away... yea...I think you may think twice then...

    Al is cheap, like, 50cents a pound...
    Ag is well, around $6 per ounce.
    $6*16oz/lb.= $96/lb.
    =Silver, relative to aluminum, is expensive.

    Silver is used because it has the highest thermal conductivity of any metal at 417 W/(mK). However, since its too expensive to use as a heat sink, its just used in the putty between.
    Copper is next after Silver in thermal conductivity at 395 W/(mK) and thats why you see it in high quality heat sinks. Aluminum, the metal used in most heat sinks, has a thermal conductivity of 217 W/(mK) which as you can see is significantly less than silver or copper.
    Silver also has the lowest heat capacity of the metals decribed here, meaning it won't hold very much heat at the processor core, but will transmit that heat to the heat sink the fastest of any metal.

    Actually, what NASA doesnt want us to know is that the Martian government has moved the rover to their own studio where they cover up their expansive and luxurious cites and large bodies of water.

    NASA couldnt get the rover driving around for a few days because the Martians tied it down when they put it in the studio.

    Martians: NASA fools. They only think there's red rocks and maybe some ice on Mars. MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

    well, its green so the wavelength is in the ~500nm range, 532nm is common for green laser pointers, and it from the pic, it looked fairly similar to those, so its probably close to 532nm... Yay! GREEN!

    Once again, people that live outside the cities are screwed. I dont like this idea for the simple fact that some people will pay for it that wont recieve any of the benefits.

    Personally I dont think we need to focus on this yet. Rural people like me (in indiana) rely on poor dial-up service (max of 40k), and we already are talking about people in cities having fiberoptic, while, yes, ruralites have Can we focus out side the box of city limits?

    I used to think people would only drink the pure water if people enlightened them to the fact that the other water was tainted

    However, this is not always the case, otherwise people would see that Walmart only expands into markets to control and dominate them.

    I used to believe if i told people about this, they would choose against Walmart.

    Walmart, the biggest and most evil corporation of the world (I'm sorry guys, but M$ has nothing on these guys) is expanding its markets.

    huh? you say... well walmart is not about profit whenever it expands into a market. Walmart instead is about lowering prices to an extent that destroys competition, like local business.

    With online music, they are looking to expand their control of humanity, by garnering the business of music lovers, and taking from those who use iTunes and Napster (& possibly destroying them.)This is just like their expansion into the grocery market, lowering prices, and destroying local grocerys (it happens, i.e. Indianapolis).

    Walmart will never stop until it achieves world domination.

    In a perfect controlled environment, yes that would be "easy." However, being able to navigate to a spot taking into account actually weather, you know like wind, thats more tricky. Theres a balancing act involved. I think its more impressive than you give it credit for.

    biological systems are all based on chemistry: thus chemistry doesnt fall into biology, biology falls ultimately into chemistry.

    while some parts of chemistry fall into physics, (ie physical chemistry) not everything does... thus i do see VERY much need to separate them...

    sorry moderators for being offtopic, but hey, people were threatening my major of study here....

    physics? sounds like to me with all the references to chemical energy you are refering to laws in chemistry...

    I swear, people have grudges against chemistry...

    Just so i'm not -1 Offtopic, batteries exist the way they do for one reason : they power the economy. Battery business is huge, with them being in everything from cars, to computers, to flashlights, to, well, you get the idea. Creating something like small hydrogen fuel cells would be efficient, but its not about efficiency, esp in the US, its about money. You take away the batteries, you destroy whole economic sectors (including hurting retail, you know, "don't forget the batteries" campaigns at Christmas)

    Batteries will be around like they are for quite a while.
