You can be disgusted with the leader of a country without "...loathing [that country] and all that it stands for..."
Here in the US, we're not required to rally around a figurehead to be labled patriotic. That is a feature of some very nasty political systems - the kind that the US was founded to avoid. Anti-Bush != Anti-America, no matter how many times you or anyone else repeats it.
The point really isn't whether you like docking or not, rather that its a brand name that has already been used, and would be misleading to people who do remember the old Powerbook Duos.
There were also features in the old Duo Dock that you certainly couldn't put onboard a laptop at all, and certainly not a sub-notebook. Full-size expansion slots and a second hard drive aren't features on any laptop I've ever seen.:)
The Terran Confederation in Starcraft was very much an extension of the *real* Confederate States of America. I would've thought that was fairly obvious from the liberal use of southern accents in the Terran voiceovers, and even the name of the faction.
Now, whether this is intended as racism or simply as parody is a question for Blizzard. I tend to think it was intended as parody, especially considering the player controlled Terrans are rebelling against the "Rebels" of our own history.
There are always exceptions, of course. I'm pretty sure the nForce SATA controller is supported by the standard windows drivers. A lot of common SATA controllers, like the Sil 3112, are not, though.
While its true that there are more and more devices not supported by a default Windows install (SATA drivers are a common example, since you NEED them to start the install), just about every x86 targeted hardware company provides their own Windows drivers. Once you've installed Windows and have internet access, or the CD that came with the hardware, there is no problem. The difference is that most Linux drivers are open source and are included in the installer, rather than requiring you to install them seperately via CD or download.
Water cores don't exist because of density. Rock and metal are significantly denser than water, so they naturally will sink to the middle of the ball of collapsing planet stuff.
That depends entirely on what Intel processor you're talking about, and what PPC you're talking about. Just about *anything* was faster than a P4 clock for clock, but P4s aren't what are being discussed.
I'm guessing the "2x faster" marketing has a lot to do with the dual-core thing. I haven't really followed the issue closely so I can't say for sure, though.
You don't think people understand why they can't make accurate predictions with evolutionary theory?
Its not that hard. Its too complex for us to model. First, you'd have to model every environmental condition accurately. You can't predict evolution before you can predict the weather, among other things, in a very long term scale.
If my cable company decides to drop the channel I had cable to see, after a year of service, am I entitled to a refund of the previous year? Not a chance. You're paying for a service, month to month. If you decide you're unhappy with the service, for any reason, you're perfectly welcome to stop paying for it. They have no obligation to give you a refund when you decide to cancel your service, whatever the reason. How many companies would offer *any* sort of service if a customer could ask for a refund on services already provided when they decide to cancel? It would be a financial nightmare.
He's talking about the scene in episode one where all the combat droids stop fighting because their command ship has been destroyed. Different cause, same result.

The name Powerbook Duo has already been used. If they brought back the name without the features, it would be pretty dissapointing.
The base textures in WoW don't include nipples. This seems to be the usual breaking point in the various media ratings systems.
World of Warcraft has unrealistic physics on par with Oblivion. It hasn't seemed to hurt its popularity :)
If by "unrealistic" you mean "non-existant," then yeah, WoW has unrealistic physics.

Are you using a Creative soundcard? I solved my Oblivion CTDs by turning audio acceleration down a notch in dxdiag.
compared to the sports games
Just because the RPG developers don't crank out yearly updates for minor engine enhancements and roster updates does not mean the genre is "dead."
And so did slashdot (you know, since its a dupe), which was the whole point.

The overview is worded differently (of course, its a different submitter) but its the SAME ARTICLE.
As of 4pm pacific, there is *one* US server with a queue, out of 140-ish servers.
I guess the queues are working out ok.
Do you realize that your opinion is not the singular objective truth of the universe?

Mt St Helens is about 100 miles south of Seattle.
Then take the battery out. Most laptops work just fine if they're plugged in while the battery is removed.

How is that crap?

So if I said, "Canada's Prime Minister signed a trade agreement today," you'd think I was talking about the head of the official Canadian church?

Bandwidth isn't everything. There's still latency to deal with.
