i feel very sorry for all those who call themselves "intelligent". everyone wants to contradict everybody. believeeers in God will oppose the non-believers and vice versa.

now that we know there could exist life beyond this planet which could be different from us, i thought all of us will unite together to welcome/fight/whatever required to do against/with them.

but noooooooooo, we will not converge our energy in doing that, coz we are very "intelligent" every one of us can manage on our own.
so what we do is try to put "our" ideas in front, opposing all other theories.

it's sad, people still don't know how everybody can be "RIGHT" at the same time

  14. same as any other technology on Text Based User Interfaces in the 21st Century? · · Score: 2, Interesting

yeah, i found this comment same as any made for other technologies. the advancement in technology is to help people. any change in current one is not so much readily accpeted by others. like when changin from hand held fans to electric ceiling fans, people were afraid to digest the fact that, these fans will not fall off on their heads!!! it took some time to accept the fact that newer technology is more usefl than the old. i don't say that the older ones are useless, but it's just that its a personal choice what we find easier to use. now a days people are fed up with all the gadgets humans have created and they prefere staying in coutry side where they will be away from amenities like mobile, fax, telephones and even electricity!!! and i think (TUI or tee-you-eye or too-yeee) is not much different. once people get fed up with some things they try to go back to the past things and say they are more useful. trying different things is in human nature. things (like GUI etc) are not invented/discovered abruptly they serve a specific purpose. if the purpose is solved for you, you can move on to the next thing, but this does not take away any importance of the previous one!

    >Next time you walk down the street, look at the people around you and realize that you are almost exactly like them. Get over yourself, you >are not different. You are not better. You are just another human being

well said. i tend to think on the similar lines for all these years. people have always been differentiating eachother on the basis of many things, viz age, sex, race etc. bu they forget that after all everybody is a human being.

one question i always try to ask my self is, ca i become what the situation demands. most of the time i work hard for the answer "yes".

yes, i can be a geek whenever i want to be, i can be a nerd if i wanted to be. i'll be social like anything when there are people around.

if u start categoriaing people into many things, i guess then u are no different than others. coz what is religion after all, a group of people who try to think on the similar lines and believe in same things. then what makes u different from others???

    u say geek and non-geek,

it's very similar to the religion in which you don't want to believe my friend!

when u start categoriaing people on the basisi of certain things, u try defend it with all your heart and that results into a religion, no matter what you say.

that's why i feel, sticking to basics is what we ned in life.

be a human being , for once and experience the magic of performing many roles(geek, non-geek, all) at a time....
