Ummm and your point is? Movie theater tickets allow you to watch the movie once whereas buying a film allows you to watch the movie as often as you like.
It wasn't that bad. Frame-rate was normally on par with Goldeneye (Good but not Great) untill you started playing multiplayer with 3+ people and multiple sims.
I am no fan of Halo and believe it is one of the most overated pieces of crap ever produced. Which was a real pity because I really was looking forward to it. The Marathon series was excellent and Myth I & II are some of my favourite games ever but to me Halo really came across as having inept level design.
Having said that, Halo 3 WILL be huge. One simply has to look at the sales of the first 2 Halo's to know that a 3rd Halo will sell millions in the US alone.
On the HD Gallery website it does indicate that you require at least a G5 to play back H.264 content although I have heard reports that it can run on the highest end G4's.
In the past whenever I've had to re-initialze my hardrive I have just backed up the "SteamApps" Folder in the Steam Directory. Once I've re-installed Windows and downloaded Steam again I have simply replaced the default SteamApps Folder with my backup.
Works like a charm
I remember reading that Valve wanted about 10x as much money to allow HL2 to be ported to the Mac as any mac publisher was willing to spend. By the sounds of that it feels like Valve just don't want other platforms to be supported.
And don't even get me started on the orignal Mac Half-Life Fiasco
Alright then, lets assume that by June 2004 there will be 1 million subscribed to Xbox Live around the world (and that is a big if) and assuming that there will around 15 million Xbox's sold that will mean that there is only around 6% of Xbox users who are signed up to Xbox Live!
The reasons that you cited as to why people are using Xbox Live are exactly the reasons why Nintendo has steered clear of online gaming this generation! One day in the future, the majority of people will have trouble-free broadband but that day is not today. Nintendo will join the party when more people are able to benefit from a system such as Xbox Live but untill then Nintendo is 100% correct in staying out of this technology.
Sure Slasdot's headline was misleading but if you read what is actually written in the body of the newstory you will find this:
"the iTunes Music Store has sold 1 million songs since its release on the Windows platform on October 16."
Nowhere does the story claim that Window users ALONE account for the 1 million songs in this story.
1. Doom (PC/Mac)
2. Super Mario Bros 3 (Nes)
3. Goldeneye (N64)
4. Myth II (PC/Mac)
5. Metroid Prime (GC)
There have been what....17 known stingray deaths in the world? Yes it is a freak accident!

I'm sure if parent wanted to steal, he could have just used Limewire
Because most people carry their mp3 player in their poket and the last thing you want is a big bulky thing dragging your pants downwards.
And new games play well on new consumer PC Hardware? Come on, the typical Dell uses an intergrated intel card.
