Lies, you have been able to buy them for about 2-3 years, I had my Psion Wavefinder for 2 years last week, unfortunately I broke it before Christmas.
HiFi separates were slow to emerge, IIRC, and portables were the latest of the models.
The benefit of having one on your computer (is it a Psion Wavefinder, perchance? or a PCI one?) is the one touch recording of the incoming MP2 stream.
Which opens up a whole different can of worms:)
DAB has been active in the UK for many many years, standard was concieved in about 1995 i think, and the coverage has been slowly increasing from the back end of the 90's

Wait, i just realised, you said a medical emergency.
I had no idea such a plan existed, why would only 2 people be able to come back in a medical emergency> And what constitutes a medical emergency? obviously, anyone in a REALLY bad shape is in no way fit to come through a 4G reentry to the russian deserts...

The Soyuz capsules can seat three crewmembers, so no-one would be left behind.
And it's a shame it was cancelled, the Buran flight was very impressive when you consider the whole thing was unmanned and automatic. The autopilot managed to land the craft with a stupidly high crosswind.
But, as is often the case with the Russian Space Program, budget cuts killed it off before it ever got off the ground again, and IIRC, Yeltsin killed it.
Am i the only one thinking of sending him a right to reply email, outlining just how wrong he is? I figure if we all do it, the collective Slashdot readership, he may write a followup in the name of unbiased reporting.
Or maybe not:)
I dont normally post on Slashdot but i feel the need to tell you that the hubble is in a 600km orbit and the ISS is at 400km
The problem is the plane difference.
I was wondering what it was for days, tearing my hair out I was. Thankfully the whole program doesnt lock up completely and you can just edit the settings in connection manager.
I think the feeling is that if something WAS to happen that was in any day dodgy or criminal, MSN are able to help the cops by giving out the account details, whereas with unmonitored public access rooms, they can't really find out who is who.

Thats not what i meant, i meant, is there nothing more interesting/newsworthy today that could have been posted...
Come on, whats the point of this?
Sounds like the Xindi in Enterprise...
Am I the only one thinking that mining the Moon is a bad idea, what with all that water back on Earth... Fuck up the tides, and you'll know about it.

You'd probably crash your car on the way to work. Fnarr....
The distances involved with space travel are so large that its pretty to avoid something. Just moving 1 km down would do it.

That would be 17,500mph ;)
Well, there's not just US entrants in the X-Prize... Unless you're saying the US entrants are making better progress, which is probably true.
Its a shame about 0.0001% of the slashdot readers will get that joke. :( Nice post anyway though :)
