In fact, now that I think about it, if they made a WebOS upgrade for all existing Palm OS devices (that could run it) the adoption would be huge.
Not only would it signal to customers that yes, Palm will support its hardware into the future, but it would also give developers a huge base to sell applications too.
The videos are posted on YouTube but that website maintains the index so you don't have to search around. These videos helped me immensely when I was taking calculus.
The actual Computer Science (CS) degree at UMUC requires calculus, the Computer and Information Science (CMIS) does not, although it still requires algebra.
I started in CMIS and recently changed to CS. Taking calculus online was a real gut check but very satisfying when I finished.
I'll echo some of the other sentiment here, program something!
Most of the popular languages these days can all do pretty much the same things as each other, the real challenge is being able to pull it all together and make an application that does something useful.
I would suggest putting together a game. It's a good challenge in your language of choice (in this case java) and a finished game is a good example of your ability as a coder to show to others and proof of your ability to yourself (in case you were doubting yourself).
You would think there would be any number of Iraqi or Afghani nationals and sympathizers living abroad with access to the sophisticated infrastructure and possess the knowledge required to carry out one of these attacks.
So, why hasn't it happened yet? If it's as easy and devastating as you assert, why isn't it happening all the time?
In my opinion, it's not as easy as you suggest, and the personal penalties for getting caught engaging in "cyber terrorism" far outweigh the potential damage you can inflict.
How does one obtain one's own intestine cells? Direct on the point answer please, thanks!
She had sample slides that had previously been taken by her pathologist.
How her pathologist got them? I'm not a doctor and I've never had an intestinal sample taken.
There seems to be an AI inside.
Try "What is your name" and "How old are you".
It knows who it is, but other attempts at conversation are blocked ("how are you feeling", comes back as under development).
Very interesting, can anybody else find anything that suggests this really is an AI and more than just a computational engine?
You would think Slashdot, as a bastion of open source software enthusiasts, would do something about the title of this article!
This is neither Denial Of Service or an Exploit unless there is something I missed and it's possible to insert some code into the html for local execution.
But there it is in big letters on the front page.:(
That's two torrents in two days!
I wonder if more are to come now that BT has VC funding? That's cool BT's great technology and it's good to see legitimate uses for it prominently featured.
I really hope they release some games using stereoscopic 3d Glasses (like at Disneyland).
If they do it right, it could usher in a new era of virutal reality, the last one was a little too short lived for me!
Just yesterday I was reading about how crap Cingular service is.
You'd think they would have just released the phone and allowed the customer to choose a carrier.
It seems to me that the most promising thing to help a new OS would be porting a Java VM to it.
This obviously would open up the platform to all the java software out there.
But less obvious is the fact that your OS is no longer subject to the chicken and the egg problem. People will be writing java software for other platforms for a long time and it will work on your OS without so much as a recompile (in a perfect world). The true nature of java would be realized and people's underlying OS's could compete and be chosen for performance, stability, security, etc.
riveting stuff... of course american networks should just make their tv shows available for a fee, and allow international customers with a valid credit card or paypal to purchase the content too.
I'm sure however, that the networks make far more money hawking the tv shows abroad to other networks after they've had their run in the states.
I live in Korea, all my ports are unblocked... except 80 which my stupid supplied router has open, other than that I can run any services I want and access them with my ip. If I need a webpage I can have it run on a different port. It should be noted however that I do have a dynamic ip and have to make use of a script to keep track of it.
*facepalm*
I don't get it...

I'm sorry but I just can't buy another product from Palm.
The TX has some pretty good hardware but there hasn't been any kind of software update or improvement in features since it was released.
I didn't see anyone post a link to http://justmathtutoring.com/

If you want your brother to learn programming, tell your parents to forbid him from doing so. That ought to do the trick ^^
I know it sounds stupid but I hate the Cygwin icon, it looks like a Windows 3.1 app.
Australia has great single payer healthcare but terrible broadband! How did she get these two mixed up?
Indeed, why hasn't it happened yet?

In Korea, that's been edited to say Pizza Hut. It's kinda weird because the lips dont sync and the pizza hut logo's don't quite look right.

I'm just bitter about Google Earth :)
...that everyone forgot to post!
...if they came up with anything that runs on Linux, unlike Google's other software offerings...
Just yesterday I was reading about how crap Cingular service is. You'd think they would have just released the phone and allowed the customer to choose a carrier.
...well it just might :)
