Regarding the matter at hand, I actually live like 200 meters from the Lunds Energi company mentioned in the article but haven't heard anything about this issue until now. Something tells me that this has been exaggerated. The whole city is blanketed with free wifi anyway, so it's not like we're dying or anything.
Oh, and if you need to know anything about blondes, beer or vikings, feel free to ask;)
I'm shocked. You went to jail for nmap:ing a server? WTF! They can't do that, it's not illegal. Taking your computer privileges is one thing, jail another... What country do you live in?
I can just see it now. People will start hacking into cars' computer systems... you'll start seeing random crashes, or cars doing 360s constantly. Or driving off cliffs. Not to mention that the market for off-road vehicles will either boom or bust if self-driving cars become a standard.
Easy... install OpenBSD
How will people possibly deal with their road rage?!
I think there are way too many business types on Slashdot who spout buzzwords like "business logic" and "n-tier model". Where are all the old-school hacker guys? All I read about these days is making robust code that has lots of maintainability and other boring stuff like that... Is hacking dirty? Only if you do it right:)
Your mom is gonna be scared away from all forms of computer use when she has her first pop-up barrage with stretched bumholes and whatnot. So, get Mozilla.
They give you a free razor, but the razor-blades cost a lot.
Similary, Billy will give you some very cheap mass-produced chip to play with, but tax you heavily for the software to actually do anything... We can see this happening today with computers getting cheaper and cheaper and Windows being kept at an artifically high price level.
Hello me... Meet the real me And my misfits way of life A dark black past is my Most valued possession Hindsight is always 20-20, But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy Speak of mutually assured destruction? Nice story... Tell it to Reader's Digest!
Our local LUG here in the Lund/Malmö area has tried to do this, but the problem is that distros refuse to send us the disks...
Never thought my little obscure home town would get on Slashdot :)

Hey man, I like your thinking... I have a European pro-gun/hacking webzine that I want you to write for. Send me a mail at borius@gmail.com
For instance: doctors, firefighters, police (they'd need donut delivery at the doorstep to telecommute).

The Swedish freedom of speech constitution is both older and stronger than the American
Half-truth. Sweden gained freedom of speech in 1766 but it was lost in 1792, after king Gustav III repealed it.

But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy
