It protects the already entrenched and places all sorts of barriers to entry for others that require huge amounts of capital investment and hoops to jump through.

Wouldn't any law written in 1789 be limited by both the US constitution as written and any subsequent amendments? I mean the law would have been passed 2 years before the bill of rights (10 of the first 12 amendments) was ratified in 1791-2. Furthermore the 13th amendment bars involuntary servitude except as punishment for a crime. Certainly any law would have to take that into consideration.

They framed it as electronic distractions but highlighted an enormous amount of cop cars involved in accidents showing dashcam footage of cops plowing through crosswalks hitting people and such. There is a law about texting and driving but the chief said that the cops were exempt because they are trained professionals.
What it boils down to is there are laws for us and law for them.

That's what I have now with electric bills between $50 and $100 a month. Anything from the meter to inside i fix, anything from the meter to the generation source, they fix. If I cannot run to the local hardware store and buy a part and replace it, it isn't cheap enough.

At work by 3am with either a cup of coffee or tea depending on where I feel like stopping. By 6am, I have a break and typically grab another coffee or two and muffin egg sandwich. I drink water after that coffee is gone and eat nothing else until rought 4 pm. Between 4pm and 6pm, I grab two unsweetened teas and a double quarter pounder from McDonald's on the way home depending on traffic. Every once in a while i grab a fish sandwich too.
I do that 5 days a week and on weekends I usually skip breakfast and eat a largish salad for lunch. Dinner around 6pm and it is either another double quarter pounder or a couple slices of pizza. I rarely drink sweetened drinks. Gave up on alcohol outside special occasions and cakes or other similar foods come only the same.

Trump's policies are vague enough that people can read into them. You could say they are agnostic which is likely why I saw so many Obama voters there. And note, the Obama voters probably supported Obama at one time passed the election but seemed disillusioned with him at present.
I saw an awful lot of Obama voters at the trump rally I went to. Somehow i doubt the causes you cite. I don't doubt the misinformation though. But Trump's support seems more party agnostic than you want to admit.
