  1. Re:Still Don't Trust It on Wikipedia Hits Million-Entry Mark · · Score: 1

Yet you read the comments posted on board like slashdot?

Wikipedia has stated many times that is it not the end all and be all of information in the internet. It is a tool, it can give you vague information or very detailed, it's a great starting point for research. Print encyclopedias contain errors as well, mabey not as many as these open ones however the print versions can't be updated and added to cheaply.

Wikipedia could have a zillion entries and I still won't trust it.

It's hard to make a generalisation about a whole encyclopedia that contains over a million entries. Sure some of them are not 100% accurate, then correct it, or wait 5 minutes for the error to be fixed. When researching you have to check multiple sources or you are bound to get misleading information.

Combined with the fact that Kerry's war record is in doubt, and how Nader is gaining more votes. It seems that MS's new pitch may be just 'it's more secure' and for most people that's not worth the big bucks.

Internet enabled cell phones are usefull for stock quotes and news, and mabey checking mail. Having TV on the phone would not only drain the battery but people would have to watch the news for 10 minutes to get to a story that affects them instead of having it on demand like the internet. I really like google, however I would never invest in a company that gains over 90% of its revenue from advertising and a user base that is very unpredictable. If a better search company comes around then users will switch, just like they switched to goole. However what google is trying to do is expand into many more online markets so people come to them for every online service with their powerfull search leading the way. They have great services and are a great company but I can't invest so readily in a young company in a volatile market.
