I don't think anyone thinks they did anything wrong. I for one just roll my eyes at the oppression brought to women in the extremist Muslim faith followers. It's funny, actually not, when you go out shopping and you see a Muslim family there. It's 95F outside, she's covered from head to toe in black with only her eyes showing and he's walking around in flip flops, sandals, short sleeve T-shirt and shorts. The BS part about it is that he is enforcing the law on her but he is bucking it. Being clean shaven with no beard and also not showing the supposed modesty he is supposed to be under their religion.
It's all about oppression and the women go along with it to avoid harm.
My 2 cents, knock my status down I don't care because it's the truth.
If only everyone used Firefox and had NoScript installed. This would never happen. Then again it's tedious with always granting access to the pages you want buy what value do you put on security?
This is great news! VMWare is growing and a fantastic product as is SuSE but Novell just couldn't do the job and didn't have the funds. I would love to see what VMWare's budget can do for SuSE.
It's unfortunate, there isn't a single party worth voting for. We're fucked with whatever one we do get. Liberal, NDP, Conservative, then there is the Bloc who's only point of existence is to destroy Canada. How they ever became a national party is beyond me!
The average Joe has no clue or concept of security or the capabilities of hackers. They usually set a really easy password and use it everywhere.
This will not stop until there are technologies that can determine that the link you are clicking on in the e-mail is not the site you are intending to go to. To ask a standard user to use Thunderbird or another product that shows the hyperlink when you put your mouse over it is naive.
As long as there is a lot of money to be made hacking into the minion's PCs it will continue on. Hopefully they will be educated in school and over time it diminishes, but they are quite resourceful, the hackers are.
I'm not sure how much it will slow their growth. As China is a communist country, they can dump the necessary resources needed to build these new facilities fast and efficiently before the old ones are shut down. The companies that are affected are not really bound to the same economic restraints that Western companies have with capital, land appropriation, permits, etc.
Just my thoughts, but knowing the way the communist governments work this is likely how they approach this. They do not want any affect to their economy and still prove to the rest of the world that they are responsible and a good choice for future investments in manufacturing work.
Basically it was a cash cow for the pharmaceutical companies, and all those related to it. You can't go to a single place without finding those darn sterilizing alcohol gels.
How did we survive as kids with all those nasty germs around! Hype and FUD from these companies that only endanger us in the long run.
Canada is currently working on a law that makes service providers and manufactures provide unlock codes when a phone is purchased outright and/or when a contract is complete. This is at the customer's request and at no additional fee.
We may just see it happen in the Great White North!
It does not help that Fox news, the most popular news network in America, has people like Glenn Beck calling net neutrality a socialist plot.
Which is the fundamental problem in the USA. A totally biased, lying, piece of shit ultra conservative program that makes it's own definition of news is followed by millions of sheep in the US.
Until the US does something to curb this blatant BS that Fox, Rush L. and the other ultra conservative groups put out, the US will continue to spiral into hell and eliminate the dream that every American lives for.
Opinion is fine as long as it is defined as opinion and not FACT. They should have a disclaimer bar that scrolls across the top of the screen at all times stating this network (Fox News) is not reporting news, just their opinions on what they consider the news.
Open source and having safeguards are 2 different things.
If you want to root your phone and make a virus on it to steal your own data, go for it.
If you post it as an app in the marketplace and misrepresent it, plus the app is malicious then any responsible company needs to be able to protect their customers and their business.
I agree with the fact that they have this ability, and applaud them for using it on this. It puts out a warning shot to others not to do the same thing.
As for personal data and Google, they're the same as Apple and any other company. Expect that what you do with their services will never be private. Apple is now selling their customers data, it seems to be the way of the US corporate bound Internet.
What do you need a billion dollars worth of tax payer security for in Canada!? What are we going to do to them, throw hot poutine at them!?
I'm sorry, there are enough watchlists out there that they could have barred all people on these lists from entering Canada and that would have done all they needed to do for the main security.
Heck, Obama got out of his car in Ottawa and started going through shops after he got elected. We showed him true Canadian spirit and gave him maple syrup and other gifts. Did they spend $12.5 million for security on him for the day!?
Canada's political parties are F'd up! There is nobody left to vote for that is worth a shit. God help us all Canadians if Harper gets a majority on the upcoming election. God help us if the Liberals, NDP, or Green party get's in.
Doesn't Tivo contribute to the ratings?? I know I have my Tivo set to record, and I hope it does count. Futurama is a fantastically funny, smart, and witty show.
The iPhone is a HSPA GSM phone. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA networks.
You will never see the iPhone on their networks unless they build one specifically for CDMA, doubtful, or if Verizon and/or Sprint build a GSM/HSPA network.
Rogers and Fido had an exclusive with Apple strictly because they were the only GSM providers in Canada. Bell and Telus went out and built a HSPA GSM network and now also carry the iPhone.
Almost all countries in the world, except for the US, South Korea, and parts of Iraq now run GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications: originally from Groupe Spécial Mobile).
GSM HSPA+ is faster than anything available right now, including Sprint's 4G.
HSPA also allows you to talk on the phone while still using data, CDMA does not.
You can bring your phone anywhere in the world and your number follows you, provided it's not one of the 3 mentioned countries.
You do the math, one version for basically the entire world, or 3 for the US (CDMA 4G, CDMA LTE, and GSM HSPA) and one for the rest of the world.
My bad, that is what I meant, the sensitivity is really based on what year the chipset was produced. So people who purchased the original equipment will most likely not be able to get the same number of channels as newer sets. It's based on over all strength in dbs if I'm not mistaken. I couldn't even twin the antennae that I had because it exceeded the maximum signal strength my box would allow.
Not really, the said converter boxes are mostly crap anyways. Mine lasted all of 6 months before it fizzled out. I also found out that the NEW converter I purchased was using such an old chipset that it could only receive a handful of stations, and I bought the higher end one with a S-Video port on it.
That's when I found out the DTV standard is constantly changing and the schmucks that purchased first won't be able to get as much out of it as people who buy them now.
I'm sorry but I seen nothing but bad coming from this. I'm not trying to be racist or anything but until the Muslim religion matures, this will just continue to endanger the Western democratic countries.
You will have to alway have troops in the country, which will breed resentment and have tones of occupation from the citizens. The extremists, which are already there, will just get stronger and exploit even more weak minded individuals as they are going to have the money to do so.
This will be the new oil, and so far it will rest in one country, which is far worse than the current situation we have with oil and OPEC.
We never blame the people, it's always pointed at Corporate America and the government. You as a people need to stand up though. You need to find the truth and educate yourself rather than watching Fox (Bush) News network, or many of the other lying, bull$hitting, anything to take over, media outlets.
I understand and appreciate freedom of speech but the crap that goes on and is supported in the US by citizens boggles my mind! Media, corporations and special interest groups are able to change history and pollute it with their own agenda. The advertisements about black history is one prime example. Instead of stating how they have contributed and made advancements on inventions over time, which is fantastic, they flat out stated they were invented by them. That's flat out wrong and distorts history. M$ Encarta was the same, different history depending on whether it was for US or global use. It's no different than the Communist's and in my opinion much worse because it's about money and power for the corporations.
This is off topic, but ask yourself why the US and Britain are the only countries in the world where diesel is more expensive then gasoline? It isn't the taxes and it isn't the demand. Diesel is a waste by-product of refining gasoline and since the US has about 5% of their vehicles running diesel, compared to 60% in Europe, it should be half the price in the US.
I've ranted enough....
I wish S.u.S.E. could go back to the way they were before Novell did the damage they did. I dealt with them when they were independent and they were fantastic.
Maybe if I put on the ruby slippers and click the heels three times.....
I don't think anyone thinks they did anything wrong. I for one just roll my eyes at the oppression brought to women in the extremist Muslim faith followers. Two spaces, atleast that is what i was taught in school.
;-)
Could be one of the only things I remembered from back then...
Canada is currently working on a law that makes service providers and manufactures provide unlock codes when a phone is purchased outright and/or when a contract is complete. This is at the customer's request and at no additional fee.
We may just see it happen in the Great White North!
Now if they can only make a law that providers must unlock the phones at the users request if purchased outright or after the contracts grace period.
That, plus this legal change, would be amazing!
In Canada ISPs can share the same backbone as Rogers, Bell, etc.
My friend moved his DSL service to Cable, keeping the same provider even though Cogeco is the cable company in the area.
Same thing goes for DSL, I dropped Sycrapico for Acanac and never looked back. It's all on Bell's copper but they have to share.
Just my suggestion. BTW, I can't wait for some more info on Netflix.ca.
Damn it's running Android. Sign me up for 4 of them. This would be a great tool to use.
It would be nice to see the specs on it, as well as what it would take to get them shipped here with the solar kit.
Thank you!

No no no... it was the BOB of Microsoft phones. Another one to go down in history for M$!
What was the whole point of Bob again? Kinda like kin, we will never really know....

Thanks prediff, it frustrates me when people flame and are incorrect. Somehow I got scored as a troll on this, even though I was correct.
Thanks for elaborating on my post, I have the same frustrations with T-Mobile's decision as you do.
