As long as you don't try to devlop something new, there is no problem with the third parties. The use of technologies ist licensed and paid.

The trick is: There are the Amiga Boot ROMs. Infact nobody knows exactly, what crap is in them. They are not produced anymore.

AmigaOS 3.9 couldn't improve the whole system. Haage&Partner and Olaf Barthel did some dirty hacks, but they couldn't rewrite the main part of the code.

The development of OS 4.0 takes 2 years yet, because everything has to be rewritten. Hyperion couldn't take the old code to improve it.

  17. Feedback to the BBC on BBC Links Linux To MyDoom · · Score: 1
You can find a feedback form here

    My feedback:

The analysis does not go very deep and there are factual errors.

There are many reasons to attack SCO. SCO is in the news, SCO is not very big. It's a perfect success control. When the company Website goes down, the virus was successful. the media report the number of infected systems and they even give advise, what the author could do better the next time.

The DDOS attack is NOT the only function of Mydoom. But nobody talks about it. Why should a user bother about SCO? But in fact the virus is a severe danger for the users.

Another point: the author of the most successful malware for Windows is primarily a Linux user? No - he must use Windows to create this virus and he has to know a lot about the system. Conclusion: The author is surely a windows developer and has perhaps sympathies for Linux.

A factual error: there are yet no lawsuits SCO versus Linux users. As far as I know SCO has only announced to do.

Another factual error: "It represents a new degree of viciousness in internet warfare" - these attacks are well known since 2000 and unfortunately an ordinary thing.

The conditions seem ideal: In Germany are several companies selling Infos about TV programmes, online, in real time, etc. Digital TV started in Berlin - many consumer have to buy new televisions and or set top boxes in the next two years to deal with the new standards. Cable TV is widespread. But there are only few digital recorders in the market, they are very expensive and no product can avoid commercials.

Years ago Telecontrol produced a box called "Fernsehfee", which stopped the (analog) VCR whenever a commercial started, but the product was discontinued (several TV station sued the company).
