    Ok, so we all love sudo, which is fine for the odd command, but prepending every single line with 3 characters does get a tad irritating after a while.

    A lot of cellphone spam that I get is of the type that encourage you to phone a premium number, whether it's a semi-legit "you might have won a prize" scam, all the way to the despicable "you have a new voicemail, call premium number blah blah blah now".

    According to google, an american gallon is about 3.8 liters, making fuel costs in britain 3 per american gallon, thereabouts ($5.40), so we don't really have a choice about fuel efficiency over here.

    Tabbrowser extensions do indeed rock mightily and now that they finally work with 0.9 I might consider upgrading again, but you forget that tabbrowser extensions make browsing a LOT slower, sometimes by a factor of 2 or 3.

    It's been said before, the default settings are what win.

    I agree, Stars! rocks, but it's definitely a lot more fun when playing against a human opponent. Can't wait for Stars Supernova, but it seems to be like the Duke Nukem Forever of the strategy world.

    heh, I applied the patch, recompiled, rebooted into the new kenel, was definitely running a new kernel, and it still halted ... luckily I only give out shells on my ppc machine :D

    The big bang did indeed ocurr right where earth is. it also ocurred where alpha centauri is, and where the Andromeda galaxy is. the big bang *was* the universe. Trying to pin it down is like trying to draw on a balloon with a pen the exact location of the unblown balloon.

    Photon's can't loose energy as such, but they can diminish in numbers. It must be getting to the point where these telescopes are only collecting a handful of photons in an hour, but I don't know for sure.

    I've been gaming on a 60Hz LCD for about a year now and never noticed it; the reason monitors flicker at that rate is because it's not displaying the whole screen at once; last I checked, LCDs do.
