  1. What is abnormal about a system working? on Run Windows MCE Applications on Xbox 360 · · Score: 3, Interesting

Agreed....in almost week of ownership, no crashes, artifacts or other "normal" behavior. Maybe I just jinxed myself or maybe I just have an abnormal box. Really out of all the 360's sold and in use today, how many are having problems? 5%, 10%, 50%, 100%!!!

Now I do have some beef about the how MCE and the 360 don't seem to work with mapped drives (this includes both Windows and linux/samba shared drives) or external drives connected to MCE. The 360 still has a lot to learn from XBMC.

However, there stories are also all over the board and many are jsut links to other peoples' blogs--(e.g. "I hate the cold heat soldering iron blog story"--big deal) and I only "digg" about 10% of them. Comments are for all practical purposes useless compared to /. [when viewed at the appropriate threshold]. /. if more like a tortise if digg is the hare. Stories on /. have already been on digg 1,2,3 or more times already, but in taking it's time..it's damn sweet time, in getting stories out, I find more of the stories to be more the "stuff that matters" than I find on digg. /. has its trolls and flame tossing ACs, but in general you can find good discussions here as long as you don't mentions religion, politics (ignore the sig please), GW, or MS. Digg's comments seem more like where ACs are born or where the /. trolls go to play once no one bites on them here.

If you haven't seen digg.com, check it out. There will be some interesting stuff there, but it's no replacement for /. IMHO

From what I've read, they taken many steps to deter modding. Not just at the chip level, but all the way up to the case which is said to have no screws. Will it be modded, probably and it is one of the reasons I may get an "early" version. Remember how easy the 1.0 xbox was to mod...now they are up to xbox 1.6+. The 1.6 version can still be modded, just takes a tiny bit more work that the 1.0 version. It will probably take a good year though until we see mod chips for the 360.
