Agreed....in almost week of ownership, no crashes, artifacts or other "normal" behavior. Maybe I just jinxed myself or maybe I just have an abnormal box. Really out of all the 360's sold and in use today, how many are having problems? 5%, 10%, 50%, 100%!!!
Now I do have some beef about the how MCE and the 360 don't seem to work with mapped drives (this includes both Windows and linux/samba shared drives) or external drives connected to MCE. The 360 still has a lot to learn from XBMC.
Q2Java was a port of the Q2 game logic and used JNI IIRC to interface with the game engine since 3D graphics support and serious sound support for Java was still nascent if existing at all. I wonder how hard it will be to port my "grapple the head mod" over to this version?
4400 - 1 + 1 = 4400 once we head north so you can't escape; we're just taking our time as it's cold up there this time of year. You can't hide from us/US. Just be happy if we still let you go by Canada and don't rename Canada to North Mexico.
I have both open in a firefox tab as both offer something to me that I find useful. From what I've read, they taken many steps to deter modding. Not just at the chip level, but all the way up to the case which is said to have no screws. Will it be modded, probably and it is one of the reasons I may get an "early" version. Remember how easy the 1.0 xbox was to mod...now they are up to xbox 1.6+. The 1.6 version can still be modded, just takes a tiny bit more work that the 1.0 version. It will probably take a good year though until we see mod chips for the 360.
Remove/revamp the "No child left behind" act (aka in schools and by teachers as "No other children get ahead"). They need to decrease the amount of standardized testing and start teaching students on how to apply the principles of what they are learning, not just memorize and regurgitate the final result.
The GPS system that is really jammed in the cases you see (by the various government buildings) is the other GPS: Government Political System. That system, whether is be the Demo or Repub version always seems to have problems.
At this point, who hasn't "hacked" Paris Hilton? Oh, wait, I see, this is about her phone. Well at least with the phone you can put a lock in it to prevent its use; can't really say the same for her.
"Ten thousand?" Luke gasped. "We could buy our own ship!" "But who's gonna fly it, kid? You?" "You bet I could! Ben, we don't have to take this."
No doubt there will be those of the next generation up to the task, but you just don't see the push of science and space at least as I remember when I was going through school (of course the round wheel was the big thing back then). Is becoming an astronaut or rocket scientist as cool as becoming an "American Idol" or a reality TV star?
Wouldn't you love the be the developer who gets Ballmer or Gates as your pair programmer.
[developer]:You forgot to comment that code
[Ballmer]: (pickup chair and tosses it smashing his triple head display of Dell 2405 monitors) The code comment's itself!!!
[developer]: What about best practices? I'm suppose to be learning from you.
[Ballmer]: Well then start by getting off you ass and picking up that chair. Now with both hands on the arm rests.....NO NO NO...use you're back to lift, not your legs.
Heck, if something in my house that needs to be plugged in doesn't have a missing screw, then I automatically know it's broken.....I have to get inside and give it "more power". My wife insists that certain "toys" of hers are off-limits, but little does she know what 9 volts can do compared to 1.5.
If I open something up and tinker with it, then fine, I void the warranty. But for companies to think they have the right to monitor what we do with their products to the point that they can deploy countermeasures just has to be stopped.
I think it's time for www.{stop|avoid|donotbuy|FU}blu-ray.com sites to start popping up. As previous posted stated, hopefully this will go the way of divx (the old crippled DVD players divx that is).
Now of course this would have been a nice way to kill off the floppy drive...have it phone home when it detects user-modified DSHD.
I see no mention of command line support which is great for scripting. Winzip8/9 and winrar both offer command line options for compression/decompression (winzip via a downloadable extension). izarc looks full featured, but I see no mention of command line support, so IMHO, it's just free.
If someone who uses it knows that it does support a CLI than please reply and I'll give it a shot.
Now you're taking about balanced signals which as you mentioned take "some simpe electronics" which takes "some more money". I would be interesting to see what difference there would be in error rates between balanced and unbalanced commuinications over CAT5
There was show on the NGC about killer whales and while different pods use different hunting techniques, one group of whales that prey on sea lions that rest on the shallow shores, make use of the water to help them hunt. They first spy their target and then swim quickly into shore (surfing the waves for additional speed) to the target. The bow wave made by their head acts as a magnify/zoom lens for the whale helping them spot their target....or at least that is what the show claimed.
I can't get it to run on my beige colored, sharp metal finger slicing and dicing case that reads "66" on the outside and has a 486-DX Intel on the inside. Nevermind that I'm using "Stacker" to double my disk drive storage amount so that I have enough space to triple boot (DOS, Win95 beta, and now a Mac OS)...maybe it will work on a plain new x86
I read last week that the PS3 release may be tied to the success of lack there of the the xbox360. If the xbox360 is slow out of the gate, the article said that the PS3 may have its US debut pushed into late 2006 or even sometime in 2007.

Not sure where the mods are, but that's pretty damn funny..and if not a bit sad since there a people who really believe that to a degree.

XBOX 360 doesn't include a HD-DVD....maybe a future version will (XBOX 720?), but no HD-DVD on the model they are selling this season.

Here is how things turn out. So don't come crying to use when your astro robot dog goes psycho and destroys all your hard work and plans.

Wonder how many of these they are going to filter?
M Vick of the Falcons also appears to have been to th site (probably read about it on
Mickey Mouse has quite a few entries as well.

Well the story I read mentions developers...not analysts, but you are right in that there is no official word from Sony on such a date change.
