An operating system running virtually won't "know" it...there is no way to enforce this dictum other than not supporting it, and we all know Microsoft's support sucks for home users anyway.
I just upgraded my Suse 10.1 to the latest xgl/compiz, and personally I believe that it is so far advanced from Windows 98/ME/XP/2003/whatever, that it is destined to become the defacto desktop. Given the exponential changes I've seen on xgl/compiz in the last 3 months, I'd say 1 year for the most outstanding, productive desktop mankind has ever seen.
My 2 cents.
Trying to get ATI drivers to work with xgl/compiz is like pulling teeth. So until ATI releases new drivers with good xgl/compiz support, announcing new hardware is worthless.
First: What is the actual differences with a Dell notebook? I have a E1705, and it's basically a Powerbook. The differences are so minor, they are superficial (in my opinion)
Second: Everyone says Apple is a hardware company. Then why is Apple not releasing their OS as open source? They are actually a software company.
Apple should sell the OS as a competator to Microsoft, and then they would have a large market to grow into. Anyone can make a Intel box. Geez.
Without the ability to program the computer, it's usefulness would just go away. What if you want the computer to do something multiple times, telling it to do it more than once is by definition programming it, and as such violates the requirement presented. It just won't happen, the hardware would become a brick.
There should be laws against our leaders lying to the public, uh, oh yeah, there are. It's just ignored by emporer George. At least we know his Dad is not proud of him.
Nobody has other metal on them, such as rings, watches, metal buttons (Levi's), etc, the real risk is only cell phones? The fact that metal increases risk is one thing, equating it to only having cell phones is quite a streatch.

Last I heard nuclear reactions are the opposite of fusion reactions. Are they going nuclear or going fusion?
I typed in slashdot.com but got deja-vu!
Could this be used as a clock for faster computers? I've never heard of anything oscillating at such a fast rate.

Well, Harvard's study is erred. The assumption to the article, "second best" is a false assumption. Nuf said.
If this improvement continues, we can actually anticipate someday Microsoft actually writing code that doesn't have holes. I'll not hold my breath!
Wow, I never saw this coming.

I never released mine, so they won't have every one.

If they put XGL/Compiz on those machines, they will beat out Apple. Better buy some stock...
"Lack of new exciting software"? Try xgl/compiz! It's the most exciting software I've seen since a windowing environment!
Impeachable offense!
All hail our new zombie pig overlords!

How many executables were not windows executables? Is this a suprise to anyone?
You might want to cut the pills in half until you see your doctor again...

Don't you think your being alittle crazy here? Have you heard of ice coffee?
It's a fact that all matter has spin. A non-spinning black hole is contrary to this universe's physics.
