The only mention of marijuana is in the title. The study doesn't mention this, only the writer of the article. Perhaps it's an attention getter, but certainly not scientific evidence.
I don't believe it. Cracking MD5 is one tought nut, and to do this on massive scale as implied by the article, is impracticble. I suspect that even if they had a quick crack to MD5 or SHA, it would just mean a new hash would be needing to be developed.
I'm in Texas, but still, show me.
Mod me down if you wish. I use Linux, but prefer BSD's just because of this kind of shit. A critical piece of software being managed by one person. At his whim.
When a team develops software, there are more eyes on the DECISIONS and that results in better decisions. This decision by Linus is just an example of the decisions that could be flawed by having only one person owning a project. Now what? This will likely put back the development of Linux.
How can maximizing profits be evil? I know of only one other person I can remeber recently using the "evil" word, and I don't agree with his methods either. Slashdot is supposed to be a exchage of information, not an opposite of Fox news.
Business is business, these changes that were made are perfectly legal and may reflect the founders belief that the stock is more valuable than dollars. The fact that it's a tax dodge also is possibly a secondary benefit.
Yes, encryption relies on obscuring the data, but the encryption alogrythm should not be "secret". An example of a security measure not relying on obscurity would include firewalls, yes? The data is there, just not for you.
I recently purchased something at Frys, they PRINTED OFF my rebate form. I sent it in, after filling it out. I was notified that I had not purchased the product in the proper time period. The only reason I purchased the product was because it was free (a book). Anyway, I'll not be a customer of that fraud anymore. More people should do the same if they are cheated.
The difference between a PC and a Mac is great. The Mac is a much better platform. The Intel design is 30+ years old and full of sludge. Why anyone would sell a superior product for a inferior one, and then run the same software on it (the pc) boggles my mind.
I just resubmitted it, lets see if they will repost itz!

A search of your searches of your searches of your searches.

Thats funny, I bought 2 systems from Dell with Freedos on them. Dell does support alternatives, but only if it will be profitable.
I'm using linux :)
Yeah, that's the same temp as my ex-wife.
What a load of shit. Just more FUD. Forever is a very long time to forcast. I suspect the odds are less than 50% he is write.

Why didn't the cops use their brain cells and tell the cashier they were wrong?
title tells all.
Jeez, why don't they always change it on a Wednesday, so we don't blow a weekend each time?
Mandrix
What you ment to say was: "Cherry OS admits to using open source in their software and will comply with the terms of the GPL."
And Pear wins, who gets the money? I think the people who back the case should share in the profits.
I looked at websites describing how to make stabelizers 4 years ago.

The CISSP mantra: Security through obscurity is ineffective.
I had this type of injection 40 years ago. There is nothing new here, move on.
I have programs for 2.95 that won't even run under 3.x ... any chance of having backwards compatibility?

Just like a bull services a cow.
And my FREE software downloads would cost: 0 x 0.05 = 0 and purchases of MICROSOFT downloads: $$$ x 0.05 = $$$
