    When you go to the ESPN's NBA home page, you get a McDonald's ad for a few seconds, then it reverts to the typical ESPN banner. This is a clever way of getting around things like AdBlock (whether that was the intent or not). Now I can either deal with the few seconds of advertising, or have a glaring white space on the page because I've blocked the entire flash element.
    Or you can use Firefox and edit your userContent.css file.

    Yes, it was partly over money, but it was actually over states' rights. As you American Slashdotters [hopefully] learned, the South seceded (except for the "border" states) from the Union.

    This pissed off Lincoln a lot. He didn't believe that states had rights, especially to secede. So he went to war with the South. I think it was in 1863 that he changed the issue from states' rights to slavery.

    The Guardian (and several other news outlets) report on the attempt by Professor Paulo Galluci and his team to build a working model of Leonard Da Vinci's clockwork powered car, designed in 1478.
    Um, how does "several other sources" translate into only two other sources?

    According to Dictionary.com, several means "being of a number more than two or three but not many."

    I know that. EarthLink/Trellix prohibits .png uploads, so I had to save it as .jpg.
