Actaully learning the proper way to program is far more difficult to get from a book. This is one of the major things I learned while getting my degree. This is also the major reason that I rarely hire someone without a degree.

Anyone can write code, but not everyone can program.

That applies to everybody, including the ones with a degree.

We believe we're living in a modern open World where only sharing the cutting-edge technologies we develop may make our lives better. This is the reason why we chose the Open Source model, the GNU General Public License in peculiar.

Cacko Linux is our new ARM Linux distribution. Aimed at PDA, Cacko Linux uses X11 instead of Qtopia, hence greater versatility, improved portability and better performance which make your PDA a subnotebook in terms of functionalities.

This distribution integrates its own development kit so that it becomes virtually possible to recompile any graphical program to extend your PDAs possibilities to your own needs.

Cacko Linux has been tested on Sharp Zaurus SL-C700/750/760/860 but is currently being ported to other architectures.

That remains true. Commercial applications written in other developement platforms will work inside KDE (they will behave differently, though). Oh, wait... doesn't KDE require a license for commercial applications... oh, never mind...they can't play nice together.

Well, now that integration is possible, instead of coding in QT you can write Gnome/GTK commercial applications and run them inside KDE, with the looks and behavior of KDE. As far as I can tell, you are not violating any license by doing this.

I really like that idea. I'm a C coder rather than a C++ coder, so coding in GTK feels more natural to me. But... I prefer KDE over Gnome for my desktop (*), and I'd like the programs I create to have the behavior of KDE. So I was in a point of desperation trying to decide whether to use C-based GTK or C++ KDE/Qt.

Now, I can happily code in C/GTK, knowing that my apps will look great in both Gnome and KDE!

(*) No trolling or flamebait intended. If you prefer Gnome and say KDE sucks, that's fine by me, it's a free world.

I don't trust Verisign... the fact that they control such an important database accesed by millions of people around the world really frightens me. They screwed it once, they can do it again.

They should have that power removed from them. It should be on another organization (i.e. a non-profit one) that better serves internet community.
