Removing much of the grind ? Are we even playing the same game ?
1. grind xp to lvl 60 2. grind ubrs/lbrs/strat/dm/scholo for your tier 0 set (or equivalent) 3. To get any kind of decent crafting gear you, (you guessed it) grind rep for the patterns, then grind materials to craft. 4. mc/zg/bwl/aq -> grind grind grind for gear/rep 5. want decent pvp gear ? YAHOOO grind rep in the pvp instances.
You say they removed grinding, I say that all that WoW is, is a grind fest, cheered up by silly comments from your guild buddies on TS/Vent
1. game gets released 2. game gets cracked and dumped onto a gazillion ftp servers 3. pirates play single player. 4. multiplayer gets released through steam which renders the game crack patch for the original useless.
5. ppl that play pirated single player still want deathmatch, a % of those wont be able to find new and updated hackes/cracks whateveryouwanna call it 6 they buy the game. 7 profit !
Yea I dunno why really, Halo 1 only needed basic motor functions to finish it, oh, yea and some sort of sticky tape to press down the left mouse button.
okay, so if that's true, then what IS the point of them forcing us to use unencrypted data transmissions ? aren't we entitled to protection from these so called "h4x0rz" ?
I'm guessing thats not it.
What i am trying to say here, is that in my personal opinion, I think it's pretty damned creepy if a government is trying to impose such restrictions on its population, or even worse, on people that visit your country. (airline companies are required to turn over large amounts of private information about non-us citizens visiting the country)
I'm hoping that there are enough US citizens that keep a wary eye on big brother over there, it might be the X-files talking, who knows, but thats how i feel about it.
I'm sorry but i just can't agree with you on this, and for the following reason : If a terrorist group feels the need to communicate over secured channels, what would stop them from setting up its own secured communication system based on tcp/ip ? Your government is just using current events as an excuse to get a tighter grip on its own citizens, and I find that disgusting.
This sure is true, We run a hardware testing facility here, running diagnostics on parts returned by service engineers, 90% of all mem that we get back has absolutely no problem, whereas 60% of all disks do have a prob.
Where do you get the idea that money not spent on buying Doom3 won't get spent elsewhere ?
It's not like ppl who pirate software keep a seperate "cash i saved by pirating checkbook" or something, they'll just spend it on something else. your economy statement is flawed.
It was the community that made this game work.
All bioware did was create a platform on which people could build their fantasy worlds. The campaigns they released all sucked arse. especially the last one where they ripped out multiplayer support.
Well..
I loved playing the first nwn, and hated everything about the scripting language. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that happy about the way nwscript turned out to be. Lets hope they get things right this time around.
Ah yes,
I've always wondered about that. If i buy blank cd's, and part of that money goes to BUMA, Why are they still whining when i use those discs to copy mp3's on ? they already got paid right ? I mean lots of people buy discs for purposes other than copying their precious music, can they get a refund for the 0,50 cents that they spent for no obvious reason ?
my bet is no
As far as i know they teach english in sweden too, so i don't see how your point can be valid.
Also, if i were to start an IT company named "Appel", (which means apple in dutch) and i start selling x86 pc's with stylish casings, I'm pretty sure i'll receive a call from one of Steve Job's minions faster than i can say TRADEMARK.
I don't see how lindows vs windows is any different.
wrong, any online rpg game turns into a brainless hack/slash diablo type thing. Damn, look at nwn for crying out loud, its just 3rd person quake based on 3rd edition dnd.. its just sad
Beware though, unlike the other two releases, the official Hordes Campaign cannot be played in multiplayer mode, so as far as i'm concerned the coolest part of these type of games, Roleplaying, isnt possible in this release (not in the official campaign anyway) If you check the bioware forums you'll notice alot of pissed off people posting.
Yeah its also rather odd that they taped their St. Anger video in San Quentin. I guess thieves, rapists and murderers are cool as long as they don't download metallica mp3's...
Oh my god ?

Thats Cute, but there are no (Legal) software patents in europe (yet).
actually, if you want to be a /. purist, its
1. X
2. ???
3. Profit !
Easy enough:
1. game gets released
2. game gets cracked and dumped onto a gazillion ftp servers
3. pirates play single player.
4. multiplayer gets released through steam which renders the game crack patch for the original useless.
5. ppl that play pirated single player still want deathmatch, a % of those wont be able to find new and updated hackes/cracks whateveryouwanna call it

Try reading the earlier article, you'll find all your answers there, it's got a complete timeline, describing what happened, and how they found out.
thank you very much for stating the obvious
Yea you did, last thing i heard that guy made it to president of the united states.
