Actually, there are quite a few models of domestic cars (mainly minivans) out durring the late 80s and early 90s that use only about five different key cuts and remote (door open) codes.
I knew quite a few people who got taken down as part of a bust of a formerly well-known group. The ones who were minors signed a letter, for the most part. Those that weren't generally got very large fines (in the hundred-thousand dollar range) and some got jailtime. It's not really something you want to take lightly, and I'm not surprised they're "paranoid" about privacy. It's not paranoid if they're actually out to get you, however.
I'm just gonna guess here and say that LCDs are "better" for your eyes, since a nice LCD will have very good contrast (to reduce eyestrain when trying to discern small details) and no "refresh rate" in the same sense that CRTs do (LCDs just refresh pixels that have changed, not the entire screen).
"Speeding" wasn't the cause of 7167 deaths you listed. The cause was the inability of the driver to control his or her vehicle. Their high rate of speed may have compounded the fact that they were a poor driver to begin with (or exacerbated a situation beyond their control), but generally in my experience, most vehicles do not simply become more dangerous as their speed increases. Also, all vehicles are not created equal. A small, light, all-wheel-drive car will be much safer at high speed than a large, heavy, truck-like vehicle. This isn't to say that speeding is ok, but I find in most cases that the quality of judgement and experience are far more important factors when considering someone's personal safety while driving. If you don't know the limits and can't handle the dynamics of your vehicle, driving slowly will not help you very much. The consequences may be different, or less severe, but you will sill end up in trouble.
Because when anti-abortion groups post that information, the implication is that it is to be used for less-than-legal activities (including murder). Posting the address and phone number of someone, without advocating harm to them isn't a problem in most cases (because if it were, the companies who mantain your local Phone Book would be in some serious trouble).
There's an Amiga 2000 Video Toaster in the showroom at WeirdStuff (Sunnyvale, CA) for, I believe it was, $299. It looked like it was in good or better condition, though honestly I don't know much about it, so I can't really tell anymore about it.
The ATIs are absoloutely not all fine. I have one. It's not fine. Check out the Steam user forums (or any Steam forums on HL2 fansites) and you'll see there are plenty of ATI-specific problems.
You don't. When a company files for Bankruptcy, they are required to notify all of their creditors. The creditors are then divided up by certain criteria. I work at a collection agency, and I've seen some co-creditors get most of "what's left" and others get none at all. I'm not sure exactly how that works (I'm not explicity involved in these sorts of things), and who chooses who gets what. Of course, if there isn't full financial disclosure (hidden assets) lawsuits will no doubt ensue.
The idea is that the results SHOULD come out the same, regardless. I don't particularly want to aruge if it works in practice, but I don't see how essentially doing the same thing with more people would help.
A drummer friend of mine has these. They were custom -molded to his ears, and I think they were around $300 AFAIK. High price aside, he said they've pretty much saved his hearing, as he can hear everything just about as clearly as normal, however, most of the harmful frequencies are blocked. You can literally have them in and hear someone wisper, and then go play the drums without hurting yourself.
You have to actively select "Pre-load this game" from the Steam Games menu. It won't do it by itself. You can, though, have Steam "keep this game up to date" if you have a game already downloaded, in which case it will update itself in the background.
Yeah, I've actually had very few problems with Steam. Few enough that I am going to pay-to-download instead of buy the box, in fact. All in all I think it's a good system, aside from getting overy busy at times like.. well, this.
There are also some engine tweaks that need to be done, both from Vavle's side and from ATI's side. ATI cards aren't functioning at their best at the moment. I assume the last thing download when your purchase it will be the executable and some key engine files.
Incidentally, I think there's a good chance that they won't knock off a few bucks for an online purchase. AFAIK the boxing/duping/printing outlay is done by the publisher and in the end is removed from the profits of the studio. I think Valve may see this as a very good way to make back what the publisher takes. I remeber Sierra not being to happy when plans for Steam were announced, and now it's obvious why.
In fact, many cars that have large windshields (SUVs and minivans especially, use the entire windshield as an antenna, because it has a very thin layer of (aluminum?) metal pressed into it.
You can always hear people coming before you see the shadows, anyway. AFAIK, even crouching/walking you still make a noise. A very slight one, but it's a giveaway anyway, if you close enough to see someone shadow around a corner. Man, people will complain about ANYTHING.
I don't think the problem most people have with handguns is their rate of failure to fire..

I'll wait patiently here for the police.

Maybe he got BSD because he doesn't want to be a "Windows Person" anymore..
Well, considering my 19" Viewsonic(s) are 18.6" deep, I'd say it's quite an improvement.

You COULD be a terrorist. I think we should lock you up just in case. We'll let you out when the War on Terror is over.
There was also a True Lies game for SNES (and Gameboy, too, now that I think about it).

I played this mod ALOT.
I have fond memories of booting people from the slide to the roof on the mall level.

Strategy is that thing that I use when I decide if I want the gun that shoots lasers or the one that shoots rockets, right?
Obviously I can't mod here, since this is a reply to my own comment, but someone please mod this guy up, as it is genuinely interesting.
