  1. Wrong Approach on Home Network Data Storage Device · · Score: 1

I am assuming that you have a rather good internet connection. The problem with all these raid systems is they are on-site data systems. For true data security you need to have an off-site back up of the data. There are some companies that will do this for you over the internet. But no matter what sort of RAID system you have it wont withstand a fire.

    Medically you need
-Of legal age (This would apply... how many people have their kids install software on their computer because they cant or dont know how).
    -Mentally Competent (Eh... too easy)
-Free of drugs or alcohol, etc. (Again too easy)
-In terms they can understand (Im not a lawyer, i might be able to understand that contract if i had one, or a dictionary).

So the question is (any lawyers out there want to clarify) how many of these items are needed for a contract. I am guessing age, and mentally competent. But the big one is terms they can understand???

  9. Re:FCC and cell phone companies will kill it on New Technology Could Kill WiMax? · · Score: 1

You'll see some legal challenges but not because it competes wil the telephone services. The real challenges will be related to 911. Since the telephone companies are required to provide E-911 data, how will these guys do this? Cell phone companies have invested lots to be able to ensure that when you dial 911 they can tell where you are calling from. WHile this technology isnt perfect yet and will be years before they have 100% compliance, its getting there. Imagine making a 911 call wirelessly via VOiP. there is no way that they can track you down (yes I am sure some people prefer it that way). But there no guarantee that your 911 call will be answered, be sent to the right state, and even if by some miracle they get you to a relatively close by dispatcher, they will never be able to tell where you are. and yes i am sure that the current phone companies will be the first to point this out to the FCC.

While I applaud these technologies, i also have dealt with the challenges of not being able to track down people who were in a car accident because no one can locate the caller.

Cutting appart a car with such high voltage running through it is dangerous to the victim and the rescuer. I think that whats being missed here is the bigger picture. Fine debate if google doing this is a good or bad idea, but the TV world is beginning to strugle with on demand, and DVR, and other stuff. If they loose money because ads are not bieng viewed, then we loose shows. With ads geared towards the user they can combat the fact that people are eventually going to be watching TV when they want to and not when a show is on. The scary ones will be when ads start being customized individually, and not just seeing ads of interest. And also when product placement becomes customizable according to who viewing. Imagine watching a show and the background is different than your neighbor who is watching the same show because you two fall under different demographics.
