No, because you'd have to download the program, scan your computer yourself, and probably also choose which files to delete, kinda like a virus scanner.

"The MPAA said it would also make available a computer program that sniffs out movie and music files on a user's computer as well as any installed file sharing programs. The MPAA said the information detected by the free program would not be shared with it or any other body, but could be used to remove any 'infringing movies or music files' and remove file sharing programs."

That said, of course, I wouldn't run a program created by the MPAA on my computer period.

    IMHO you're being shortsighted here.

We don't care about "hacking" these devices. I would imagine most people here making the argument that Linux would be a better choice as an OS are making that argument because it would generally prevent the sorts of DRM-laden formats Microsoft pushes with Windows Media Center Edition from becoming mainstream, which would then force other manufacturers to include W:MC software in their devices, and giving Microsoft yet another industry monopoly.

No, consumers who buy these sorts of things aren't generally going to care about the operating system used. They might start to, however, when the prices for their devices go up due to the Microsoft tax. But by that point, it will have been too late.

If you're looking for a game that doesn't involve a level treadmill or involve doing the same thing over and over without anything fun, try Puzzle Pirates. The name may sound odd at first, but I have played many MMORPGs and it is, by far, the best one I have ever played. The community is great (it's very rare to find the sorts of lamers that inhabit other games in YPP), the game is fun, the economy is entirely player run (and works in a sane manner that involves puzzling to craft things and automated labour, so you don't do the same thing over and over), and there are MANY different ways to play the game.
