The armor is indeed made with ceramic plates, with the idea being that the ceramic will shatter the bullet while the kevlar and the rest of the suit will help absorb the force of impact.
Of course it isn't the end. Slashdot has been open source the entire time. Their source is so open, then have a function actually built into your browser to retreive the code for you!
I like the idea, but ponder the feasibility. I doubt such an action would be taken very seriously in court as it's a fairly widespread belief that file sharers are hellspawn anymore.
A good point, and one that shows the potential that Linux holds. Are you a small business owner who needs software you can control? There's Linux. Like programming as a hobby? Linux. Need web servers for your real estate biz? Linux. I don't think that in the end, the purely economical softwares such as Windows can hold out against a system driven by what the users want and enjoy.
I agree completely. Unless capitalism suddnedly becomes compassionate in the next decade, there is no way that the US will be nearly as wired as Korea. We're signing our technological death certificates by not promoting widespread broadband now.

When automated processes control the world, we won't need jobs. It's a step forward.
does it matter if they did? We have excuses!
pardon my naivette, but wouldn't that conflict with specifying a user and pass such as in ftp addresses?

I think I'll head on out and patent a FOR loop before someone else does.
Using Mozilla, the banners are all I get, as well.
And how long yet until we can power a supercomputer with the lights on a christmas tree?

^_^ I believe there is more to as OS than it's mascot. Look how far Windows has gotten with nothing more than a couple colored squares.

...why not pour some of the FBI budget into funding Linux training camps throughout the nation?
