    Ogg Vorbis support for the three people on the planet who use it. A lot of released games use ogg vorbis, e.g. FarCry, SWAT 4. So that's a hell of a lot more than 3 people.

    If no one outside your client's company will receive binaries of your program, then no one but your client is required to have the source code made available to them.

    I can download a trial of the encoder, so according to GPL I'm entitled access to the source of this program.

    Pro's:
    • Opera has mouse gestures.
    • I'm still addicted to F2 (opens new location). You can navigate Opera completely by keyboard only, which is a lot harder in FF.
    • Speech navigation? (never tried it)
    • Speed. Loading and browsing take less time than with FF.
    • I do not have to look at the horrendous Firefox compile script floating by :-)

    Con's:

    • Latest versions contain too much bloat; mail and messaging are incorporated in the browser :( What's next, chrome?
    • The ads are a bummer, so purchasing a license is definitely worth the money ($29).

    Most useless port ever.

    Parallel port is good, especially since I use an old laserprinter, which performs very well even today.

    The serial port can go too, except for server boards.

    PS/2 ports are fine though limited..

    You get what you pay for. You want good quality - pay good money. You want bad quality - pay peanuts.

    Duh. I can get good quality for peanuts, e.g. a fixed frequency 21" Sony monitor.

    Expensive does not exist. Just pay for stuff you find worthy of the price. Stop trying to get seats on the first row for a dime..

    Prices are nearly the same, except perhaps for large mem. But I'd rather stick with quality and less performance/capacity than risking fast/buggy stuff (and no, I do not recommend IBM by default :-)

    I don't like the hassle when something's broken after a few months. In practice you need a long breath to obtain the rights of the warranty -- in the same period prices have dropped anyhow.

    Just say no to consumerism, buy durable quality.

    Pff, using Windows(*) I can automatically login wirelessly without saving settings.

    (*) I do not use Windows but many entry points do and accept my request without authorization :-)

    PDF's are perfect for online viewing. You just have to use Acrobat full to optimize for screen reading and proper fonts.


    HTML/SGML/txt are not comparable, how do you distribute a book (.tgz?).


    Besides, if it wasn't well for online viewing they wouldn't have called it *portable*, right?

    I missed some cards in the lineup, esp. Matrox ?Marvel? series etc which are around quite some time.

    Ye Olde BrookTree bt878 chipsets work perfectly for like 10 yrs. The public domain driver is more stable than the official :)

    On the other hand, I would as well scoop up an SGI Indy and attach a 10000rpm scsi drive; my guess is it will outrun any current system (at least in price/quality)
