    You have a crappy WM for native windows apps.
    fork() is terribly slow in cygwin.
    Windows eats more resources, is more expensive...

    it's not a simple drive letter that I can copy music over to thank you RIAA.

    What does this have to do with the RIAA ? It's only the developpers who didn't bother to put a filesystem interface, since everything is already stored in a database.

    Usually google has been friendly with users. But why bother them with something that looks as innocent as email notifiers, unless they have some kind of spyware in theirs they want to show ?

    Your argument is ridiculous. If you think this way, netbsd runs any pc program thanks to bochs. The above poster meant natively, like win9x ran dos programs.

    Look at the Win9X drivers that don't work with NT, 2000, and XP. You may say "it's a different kernel" but that's exactly the same problem with Linux.


    Not at all. Different versions of linux are different versions of the *same* kernel.
    win95 vs wnt have *different kernels*.
    nt vs 2000 vs xp have different versions of the *same* kernel, and here, a binary driver made for windows 2000 often works on xp. Would a binary driver made for 2.4 work for 2.6 ?

    It probably appears in YRO because most of the things that deal with censorship are here (although this article doesn't deal specifically with online stuff).
    As of the books section, there are only reviews here, so it may not necessarily be appropriate.
    And the main section seems to generic.

    So IMHO, it was right to put it in YRO.

    I don't get The Giver being banned either. It was REQUIRED reading when I was in middle school, and then again in High School.

    In fact, much of the required reading when I was in high school was on this list.
