IMHO, the best solution might be a a new round of massive discounts after Windows 8.1 is released. This applies also elsewhere than just China. The only solution to get people to adopt Windows 8 is to get them to upgrade from Windows 7 and a really cheap price like $19.99 is the only option for MS.
Defy XT does have an "official" update to ICS but it was only released in China. There is a guide how to flash it to your phone as well. Obviously I am not responsible if anything goes wrong.
I've been toying with the idea lately. Create a Kickstarter-type website where companies could ask certain amount of money for a game/program and if the goal is reached they will release the source.
I bought a desktop for our nursing station at work. The requirement was: "as cheap as possible" so I got them a basic HP desktop with Windows 7 and Office Starter. Add to that Windows Live Mail and Powerpoint Viewer and everything works perfectly and looks like a regular office PC.
Nursing home where I work at the moment has a extremely tight budget and the money we have goes to taking care of the patients.
I am willing to pay a $500 price premium to any company that is willing to sell me a laptop that has a standard sized keyboard. I type 50 pages of text or code per week. IT IS WORTH IT TO ME
I bought this Acer Aspire for my wife about three years ago for the exact same reason, although hers has a Core i5 instead of AMD.
I've never encountered any major problems with either NVIDIA's or AMD/ATI's drivers on Windows. Just couple of weeks ago I had a GT520 that I installed to a HTPC and just couldn't get it working. Turns out it was the motherboard that wasn't compatible.
The fame came from Winter War where Finns beat the Soviets against overwhelming odds. Finland did not fight the Soviets and the Germans at the same time.
Why haven't I never thought about emulating the server on the client. Thanks for the idea!
The only downside is that playon.tv doesn't support HD content on XBMC.
Requiring a running server is IMHO against the idea of having a HTPC.
Does playon.tv support HD content from Netflix?
Elop did a fantastic job managing Nokia.
I didn't even think about the actual point from the Chinese point of view...

I haven't learned how to draw in 40 years and I certainly do not enjoy drawing.
Taking a rapid CRP test from a patient should give your wife and other GP's the argument against/for antibiotics. CRP 10 = no antibiotics.

You might find the following list very useful. It was made by the author of Accuraterip:

Exactly!

I would recommend HD7770 as it consumes a lot less power compared to HD5770/6770 and the cheapest ones cost around $110 - $120.
This looks like the start of the extinguish phase of Microsoft's plan.
As a Finn I am really fucking pissed off at Elop and the Nokia board who let this happen.
In an article in Finnish Taloussanomat Rovio denies it is going to move to Ireland:

The list had hash of my password but I've deleted my account long ago. Luckily I used a one time password that I didn't use anywhere else.
There was already an article about L4D2 running on Linux.

Ok, this is a secret so don't go telling anyone.
Angry Birds is a Finnish conspiracy AND an attack plan for our inevitable assault on Iran. It also funds the Finnish military.
Did you think think that the name Rovio (=stake or huge-ass bonfire) is just a coincidence?
