It's obvious that nobody here has any clue regarding performance rights, copyrights, or mechanical licenses. Everybody is assuming that Apple didn't have permission. Maybe they did. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Ooh, gotta have a wintel PC just because everyone else does! Hey, looks like everyone else is jumping off of a bridge. Guess that means I have to as well! Bonzai!!!
Hello!!! If you don't like the price, don't buy one! Now, how difficult is that? Seems to me that Apple has a great reason for pricing it a $249.00 -- they want to make a profit! A business that wants to make a profit? Interesting concept.
Thankfully, Apple chooses quality over quantity and then prices accordingly. Better components and superior design cost money.
Just think of what a wonderful world it would be if we all used cheapo eMachines, drove Yugos and listened to crappy WMA files our flimsy off-brand MP3 players.
Blah, blah, blah. If they can't produce enough, seems to me that they must be selling as fast as they can make them, even overpriced as you say. So, what the hell is your point, coward? Oh, and what is the anwser, anyway?
If the battery dies (batteries are like that) have it replaced by Apple for $99 or replace it yourself for $50. I just can't see any reason for all the whine-age that goes on over this.
I've looked hard, but I can't find anywhere in my iPod literature that suggest it or its battery is supposed to last forever.
So, what's stopping you from screwing the mini and getting the Nitrus2?
Apparently, what really bothers you is that some people make more money and can purchase higher quality products than you!
Oh, really?! Where did you find these widespread reports?
And you need to look into getting a clue.
Are you sure it's only the pod that's three days old?
Yeah, AC! Something is flaking off and it ain't the silver on the mini! Apple hasn't posted anything about it because the problem doesn't exist.
Yeah! The photos just don't do the thing justice. I got mine at the iPod mini release event at the Clarendon store.
Whoah! I'm glad your not my "Computer Guy"!
Fortunately, not all of us are as clueless as you seem to be. How many songs can you store on that MP3 Diskman of yours?
If this is the case, why hasn't it happened yet?
You must be living in the wrong place!
Like, totally better, dude! Not!
If, as you are assuming, Apple did not have the proper permission.
It's obvious that nobody here has any clue regarding performance rights, copyrights, or mechanical licenses. Everybody is assuming that Apple didn't have permission. Maybe they did. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
You're assuming they used it without his/his company's permission. Nothing is proven yet.
What a load of rubbish!
face it, anonymous cowards suck. ignorant, obnoxious and of little to no use to anyone.

Anonymous cowards are so...anonymously cowardly.
"In consumer electronics 1 and only 1 thing matters. price..."
If this is true, then why is Apple's iPod the world's #1 selling digital audio player?
You're so full of hot air it isn't funny! Well, maybe it is funny...sort of!
Oh, and besides Sony, what other big guy hasn't entered the market yet? We know how well Napster is doing with their player!

Amen to that! It's even funnier coming from supposed hi-tech geek types!

Inferior hardware? Yeah, right. What superior hardware do you use?
OK, people. Is Apple a megacorporation or just a bit player? I keep seeing/hearing/reading both.
And you are an Anonymous Coward!!!
BTW, did you forget to take your medication again?
