    Actually, they ARE in there. I microwaved a stack of license plates and my microwave just about exploded. Obviously the goverment trying to hide the evidence.

    Isn't VCD a more complex algorithm to decode since most (many?) video cards have hardware MPEG-2 decoding?

    This isn't a downside of the voting machine itself. It's up to the person inputing the candidate info to leave a "abstain" or "no confidence" option. Surely the software could support such an option (even if you had to hack it by putting First Name: No, Last Name: Confidence)

    If you can crack 256 keys a second, then it takes 0.00390625 seconds to crack the algorithm. That's a pretty crappy algo.

    We also use biological analogies to explain the workings of digital systems. How many times have you told someone that the computer is "thinking" or that it has a "virus". This kind of thing goes both ways, I think it's mostly out love for analogy in general.

    I almost want to say YHBT, but I'm still not sure. Don't forget that the amount of data you can put on a carrier (generally) scales linearly with the frequency of that carrier. So yes we want to go through walls, but we also want fast connections.

    Most males come up with this solution, but it's easy to forget that women usually keep their phones in handbags, etc. Vibrate modes don't often have enough power to get noticed in there. Maybe they need some kind of bluetooth pin/hair clip/accessory that girls can wear and will vibrate when the phone in their handbag receives a call?

    Slightly off topic rant: My GD Verizon phone has three modes: ring, vibrate, ring then vibrate... but where's the ring AND vibrate mode? Are they worried about current draw? Cingular phones can do both. That's the best of both worlds, cause sometimes you are in a noisy place and can't hear the ring.

    You were misinformed... maybe that is true in Folsom, maybe you misheard them, maybe they were just plain wrong. But in general, California law does not allow one to turn right on red without stopping. Sorry that I misunderstood your comment.

    Unfortunately, there have been studies that show that drivers will drive at what they consider a safe speed regardless of the speed limit. Tickets are less of a deterrent and more of a revenue source for underfunded municipalities.
