Well, by inducing programmers to stop writing free software and thus building a product based software industry on such artificial barriers we'll be headed for doom someday (sooner than later), like the dotcom doom.
I think the software industry is a services oriented industry. Most of the jobs that programmers still do are centered around writing software services to support other businesses.
Respecting ourselves (software programmers) need not always translate into $$$.
Naa. The local language support in Windows has consistently been garbage for most of the Indian languages. On the contrary, KDE and Gnome have excellent support for many Indian languages, including at the terminal level with gcc and glibc support!
Dont worry. Its already doing rounds on *the* P2P network. 5-10-15 years from now, we are going to see the news of a major copyrights violation suit on/.
A law to support one law from violating another law? looks like this thing is very soon going to turn into a maze of laws and counter laws.... And then anyone can turn the system against itself for fun and profit:)
Hey! how about embarking on a project for analyzing laws? something that would generate a map of which law goes against which one.... etc. If somebody is willing to take the initiative, count me in!
I don't think they would conquer TX. I know that india hasn't attacked any country in the past 5000 years of their civilization for the sake of looting or ruling them. Although they have been attacked and looted in every period of their history including the modern times (british, east india company). On the contrary, they have absorbed other cultures, religions, way of life... into their own.
That wouldn't mean it would not do so in the future. But, its not in their blood, culture. And I do believe so.
We have a lot to learn from India and India has a lot to offer to us.
Oh! don't worry... its the same public that invested in myfoot.com a few years ago. And, yes the stock rallied! it touched the peak, about $31/share. Untill, the company eventually got to the act of deciding what business they wanted to be in... and it became an oft repeated story...
I would say any process that is _not_ *reversible* entails destruction.
well, you might say conversion of ice to water is reversible. But, can all of the *information* that can be ascribed to the ice prior to its melting away be restored?
I can only remember these verses by Tagore and Gandhi.
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high Where knowledge is free Where the world has not been broken up into fragments By narrow domestic walls Where words come out from the depth of truth Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit Where the mind is led forward by thee Into ever-widening thought and action Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Does it mean I am going to loose all my money, my health insurance .. etc. if my dog chews away my finger?
I better keep my fingers off this...

hmmm... I guess thats the reason why SCO's lawyers are able to come up with new litigations every second.
Dumb RIAA. If you call file sharing piracy, then what about the recent MyDoom virus spreading through kazaa? was that piracy too? ;)
I wish Howard would count me in for exemption too :(

Not to worry. You haven't signed any NDA's. So its fine I guess.
When the desktop sales is on the decline and laptop sales in on the rise, how come there are no laptops with FreeDOS option at Dell.
I would love to buy an n-series laptop. More so if it means I dont have to pay the Micro$oft Tax.
