Lucky you!, in my current residence (1 year), I had one outage that lasted 2.5 weeks, had to spend several hours on the damn automated phone/customer service.
The problem, idiots had my connection plugged into the wrong jack (IDSN or something), compound this with the fact that I told them several Times that I had NO dial tone at the customer port on the back of my house - several times (should have made the problem obvious, or at least verify the proper jack).
Add to that, they tried to tell me it was an inside wiring problem, because they assured me there was dial tone coming into the house. Mind you there was light snow on the ground for the time period and no tracks in the snow, how did they check? FLY?

a strong correlation between tradition in military uniforms, and the strength of ones military. Historically speaking, as uniforms have become more and more advanced, more maintenance is required for upkeep. While in the past, the benefits of the advanced uniform have been able to outpace the cost of maintenance, this is decreasingly the case.
As a consequence, the military has chosen to provide the utmost camoflauge, while at the same time provide a uniform that simply scares the hell out of the enemy. HERE is the prototype. (I know geocities, I'm lazy it's the first imge I could find)
here in the US, how the hell would we read Metres and Kilometers, and hectares and such, give us our Miles.
Problem: Hmmm, Ive got 100 kilometers to my destination and 15 gallons of gas. I am driving an Hummer H2, that gets 9 miles a gallon, can I make it?
Solution: It doesn't matter, the H2 can't drive around the corner before needing a refuel.
However, they wouldn't be sued if they weren't performing illegal file sharing.
The companies are probably not going after Joe User who downloads a couple of tracks to see if he likes the music on an album before buying it.
You are assuming too much here
Perhaps you are right, and they are only suing people that are doing something illegal. I'm not trying to bash you here, or discount what you are saying, but I have not seen any of the evidence in any of these cases (and I'm not talking about the press info, I'm talking about evidence admissable in court)
Cases are brought, and settled everyday because one party or the other feels it would cost less to settle than to pay legal fees. It may very well be that all of these people are doing something illegal & probably most are, but what about the couple that might not be. Only a court can determine legality, and if someone settles solely due to their financial situation, there is no way to know.
It seems you have illegally sampled a portion of one of our members songs. The song Shackles (Praise You) contains the word shackle, we hold intellectual property in the word "shackle" and you obviously were using this song as a basis for your above posted Hook. Further, since this song is so old - that we don't even know where the masters are, you must have obtained it through an ILLEGAL peer to peer network, such as Kazaa and circumevented the DRM.
this may be a little offtopic, but I was just reading about the Nintendo DS, Video Games and the Alpha Release of Windows Longhorn.
Then I thought wow Microsoft has been releasing a popular game for years, and nobody realized it. No I'm Not talking about Flight Simulator. I am talking about THIS

There's a little guy inside the baseball, after it is thrown he jumps out (in the opposite direction the baseball is travelling), and due to the conservation of momentum the ball must speed up.
So how can one ask the question "Can a movie be saved?" before knowing if it needs to even be saved.Because, I feel a tremor in the Force. It's as if thousands of voice cried out "Han Did not Shoot First", then suddenly went silent.
Show why the hell Vader and Obi Wan are not nearly as powerful in 4,5,6 as they are in 1 & 2 (maybe the lack of Jedi and Sith lower the powers of the force as an aggregate)
Show the hunting down & destruction of the Jedi
or do like the 80's show Dallas and have it all be a dream sequence and make a Good Movie for a change.
I.e. to cash in on the success of the original series. It doesn't have to be *good* to do that. It only has to have "Star Wars" in the title.
you are right on target, but can you imagine how much MORE money Lucas could have made if the movies would have been better, especially no Greedo shoots first or midichlorians. Sure it will still make a gazillion dollars, but some fans are balking because of these issues. Surely, it would not have made any less money.
In fact, the greatest single disappointment for me was the midichlorians - that just takes away from the whole 'Mystic' aspect of the force. Oh gee, youve got a high concentration of microspoic thingys in your blood - you can be stronger than Yoda. $^#@$%&%&#*#$^*#%^*#$^*!!!!! That just sucks.
Episode One, had no redeeming qualities to me. Especially, when the lightsaber could cut through something like 1 foot thick metal, melt it & not put out enough energy to fry the Obi Wan, who was holding it.
Two, had some good aspects, though not told in the best way - like Anakin anhilating the Sand people and wanting to become 'The Most Powerful Jedi'.
Let's hope Lucas gets another director for 3. I doubt it though.
Because an object in motion (constant linear velocity) will move in a straight line unless a force acts upon it, in order for an object to travel in a circular motion inside of a dryer a centripetal force must be applied. Of course the centripetal force always points towards the center of the circle. In this case the walls of the dryer (basket?) provide that force.
In order for the Hard Drive to remain Static in relation to the point of contact on the dryer, an equal but opposite force must be applied. This causes those bits to be reshuffled. Next up Mechanics of Deformable Bodies.
Which brings us an interesting concept, the inward and outward forces on the drive would act as a form of compression, thereby freeing up even more space on the hard drive.
Maybe SCO would like to patent this form of Data compression.

About the only thing Lawyers actually ever get disbarred for is screwing with their clients money, i.e. escrow accounts and such.
