  15. Slashdot Conspiracy on The Wikipedians Who Make it Happen · · Score: 5, Funny
As I was sitting here, playing Go, and thinking about another variation of game theory, another link finally solved the puzzle of the Slashdot conspiracy.

Talking about the beginning of Wikipedia, I realized that this was posted on slashdot. Not long ago, I discovered that a moderator on slashdot was named Samzenpus, who is the second cousin twice removed of Snagglepus

Well Snagglepus is famous for saying "Heavens to Mergatroid

Mergatroid was the sister of a guy in a band called Newcleus

The guy just happens to say, and I quote:

    • "(Yeah, that's how you do it Cozmo) (You were right, kid, that's the way you do it) (Yeah, like did you see when he went in the corner) (And he started doin' this) (Wikki-wikki-wikki-wikki) (Wikki-wikki-wikki-wikki)"

this song came out in the early eighties - a Paradox (how could a wiki exist in the eighties before wikis existed?). Cosmos, nucleus, wikis, it all makes sense now. Slashdot may look like an innocent little blog which slashdots servers from time to time, but they are in actuality trying to slashdot the universe

  16. My thoughts Exactly on Samsung Unveils 82 Inch LCD · · Score: 1
it seems that LCD's and Plasmas are becoming like the SUVs did over here in the US. My Flat Screen is bigger that your Flat Screen. Now, granted, they have thier uses (I actually have 2, for the tight areas wehre I wanted a relatively large screen - and use them to display random artwork as opposed to changing phusical pictures, etc). But, if you've got a room big enough for a screen this size, a Projecter seems like a much more logical choice.

I do believe that the bulb life on the projectors is alot lower than for a LCD or PLASMA's screen, so that cost would need to be factored in. But if I could afford something like this, I might as well pay for an automatic drop down projector and screen, that's hidden totally.

    anyway, just my opinion.

  17. Tinfoil Alert on WinFS to be available in WinXP · · Score: 1

Perhaps this means that Longhorn will be delayed for a far greater period than initially expected. Microsoft can make some brownie points by releasing this hyped file system for free, heading off the negative press over the postponment of longhorn or allow them to abandon it (by saying the majority of features will be backported to XP) in favor of another OS.
