    A better design for DVD recorders would be a hybrid model. You first record the program onto a hard drive. Then the user can set to copy the program from the hard drive to the disc. Higher end models could feature editing and commercial flagging (for manually editing out the commercials) functions. This would make it possible for the user to decide whether or not to save the program to a disc, increases the quality of said copy, and the point to sell to QC is that it would make disc burning errors less likely since the drive doesn't have to burn at real time, and if the burn does fail, you can just pop another disc in and try again without losing what was already recorded.

    Well you know, Matlab does run on linux as well, so depending on what limitations linux has, the examples you mention may just be reasons why you don't use windows for high end computing.

    The problem with putting the null device into hardware, is that it would would be IO bound more so than the emulated device, as it actually has to send the data to another chip, clogging up the busses even more than the kernel internally disgarding the memory. Write-Only Memory only goes so fast you know.

    It's faster than Vista, and good is subjective. There is always room for improvement, but with windows, how much actual improvement has there been since Windows 2000? Microsoft has had seven years to improve on what they brought with Windows 2000, and how far have they actually come? Compare this with Linux, how far has it come in the past seven years?

    Which means that the revolution controller is more accurate, since nobody who knows how to shoot a gun shoots it sideways since the barrel is positioned to shoot with a slight upwardly angled velocity to help counteract gravity. So when "gangsta" shooting, your bullets all veer to the side and away from the target plus the fact that you just look retarded.

    Last time I checked, you didn't teach a screw to write in Phillips. Just like there are different screw heads for different purposes, there are different programming languages for different tasks. A Phillips head is a lot like VB, it's easy for anyone to use, but it strips out rather easily.
