Sushi's stuff was always fun to read, but it was fairly obvious it wasn't a 'real person'. I can't reference any specific clues, but you certainly got that feeling from reading the magazine. CJ's blog displays a guess no better than any of ours, so I'm not too sure this deserves a./a article.
What bothered me from the blog is that he thinks EGM created this character of SushiX, and then had him hate on certain games just to develop it. Does that mean games were given bad reviews just for that purpose? That makes me question the integrity of my favorite gaming rag...
Seriously. As nice as it is to see someone offering an unDRMed music download service, this is really just a band selling their own music. If it caught on, and tons of bands started doing it, that would be cool. Otherwise, this is of no consequence to anyone but TMBG's fans.
I won't touch that second rate comment, I'm sure a hundred zealots will have defiled you by the time I finish this post.
I think you're wrong about Windows users (who I believe you were referring to) not buying software. They must, looking at the sales figures of popular programs like Photoshop and MS Office, as well as games. For ever script kiddie playing a hacked copy of UT2K4, or whatever, how many do you think bought the real thing?
I'm tired (not almost) of our government being needlessly criticized and underapreciated. Something you say in a conversation here isn't likely to get you arrested. This post contains the phrase 'I will kill president Bush tomorrow at 6:35:22PM EST', yet I will not be searched out and detained. This isn't to say I want some company or government body having records of my private discussions, but it's far from this Chinese policy of notifying the police, eh?
I don't know, games like Animal Crossing and Super Smash Brothers Melee are very popular as communal/social games, without online play. AC manages to let you share your village with others without online mutliplayer. Instead, you can share codes to trade items, and others can plug their character into your town to 'visit'. SSBM, as with most fighting games, is just multiplayer competetive goodness. I'm sure those games would have been more fun to play if they had the online option, but they faired quite well without, and there were no server fees.
Good point. Can a study that will probably have relatively small survey size of an opinionated tech crown likely to exhibit bias be trusted? I don't know too much, admittedly, but wouldn't an automated test that just compared the output of a compressed audio track to the original be more accurate? Or is there more truth than I think to certain frequencies being worthless and inaudible by human ears?
The summary says: 'unfortunately, neither of these titles have confirmed English-language versions yet.'
While the site for the Italian analytical book says: 'Italian releases only, English version of Ludologica coming soon. All the books are currently on sale at iBS.'
Perhaps that isn't confirmation, but for those who want it in English, I think you'll get it.
From my limited knowledge, the DDJ isn't at all bad. It's made by Creative, I believe, and I hear good things about their Zen line of players. The price is pretty good (there are cheaper), and the remote is a nice touch.
I jumped on the CDR bandwagon a bit early, and god burned by it. The drive I bought ruined discs far too often, in the days where they weren't $.20 a piece. Yet there was no hope for a return, because that was the 'nature of CD burning'. I won't make the same mistake with DVD burners, I advise all to wait a year or two.
Couldn't people ditch their cable/dsl broadband service and just use this? I admit to not RTFA, but for laptop users, being able to go online at home and on the road on the same bill might be worth it for a drop in speed.
'How comfortable would I be swallowing a drug made from Gila monster spit?'
About as comfortable as I am eating Pig hoof, or whatever is supposed to be hot dogs, I suppose. It's not like they're going to market it as a 'Gila Saliva Supplement'...
I don't know, 74% doesn't seem that bad to me. I was excited, like you, before the release, and the mediocre reviews have not shied me away from it, although I've yet to pick it up.
I was appauled at first thought to hear Sega's second parties (or whatever they should be called) will be assimilated. After giving it some thought however, it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Games produced by the brightest minds of AM2, Smilebit, Sonic Team, etc. sounds great, after all. I'm sure having all the developement under one roof will cut costs, as well. For the first time since news first broke, I'm actually hopeful for this Sammy merger.
Yah, it might even be a little late already. I tried to trade in my original GBA the other day, and it was only worth $30. More depressingly, it was only worth that much as a promotional deal to 'upgrade' to SPs.
I have to disagree with you here. If a hacker was guessing thousands of random combinations of numbers, why not all 0s? Is 98347283 any more likely than 00000000?
Wasn't there a Sherlock Holmes novel where the police ransack some guys apartment looking for a document, prying up floorboards and turning every page of every book, and whatnot? he document ended up being in a stack of letters on the guys desk, or something. Hiding stuff in the most obvious place _is_ a well used technique, but I don't think it applies to this.
Skip the debating, go straight to the source!

Note that I'm far from a Dell fan.
It's always weird to see. Half Life (DC) and Thrill Kill come to mind as such titles.
Sometimes redundancy adds emphasis... The line is pretty poor overall, though, IMO. It sounds better if you imagine it with a Greek accent.
What about people wrongly convicted?
Let me offer a lazy link to help out: Here ya go!
I don't know, Metal Gear Solid took the move to the GBC pretty well, and this is more powerful hardware.

NASA.gov is in for the Slashdotting of its life!

A 20GB Neuros is only $200, for one. Mad featureous, too.
"...the state of the Linux desktop visually and usability-wise..."
The title talks about art and usablitiy, and there it is in that quoted segment above...
