...considering the size of Asus Eee and other OLPC offshots.
Yes, generally I prefer trackpoints to the point that I don't need touchpad in a laptop...but I can use the latter if it's reasonably good and thje only option in a given laptop. But in those minilaptops touchpads are bordering on usuable due to small size...:/ (especially in Via nanobook)
While win2k support is problematic...Microsoft somehow managed to get source for the unfinished 2k driver during XP development. Yep, Windows XP ships with full hardware A3D support. Just don't update the drivers via Windows Update, the newer version removes acceleration.
Yep...personally, since in my dorm/etc. room I always had my PC (stationary, still with CRT), it's a bit hard to justify buying a "laptop" that really wouldn't be portable in a meaningfull way, si I can have it with me most of the time. OTOH the ones that are portable...well, also hard to justify buying them due tu double-price premium...
I just hope some OLPC offshot will include a Trackpoint and a bit more reasonable screen size (say, 10") and I'm set, I guess.
I'd be *really* glad if cheapo laptops were 14", as you write, unfortunatelly all of them are 15,4"...when 14" would be almost-portable-enough for me (worse than 13", but those are also expensive).
And 15,4" is a desktop replacement, nothing more:/
Even if somebody has done it...qwerty prevails...:/
Case in point: yeah, there is theoretically "polish typewriter" layout (still not very great, since it's basically modified qwerty to include PL specific letters), but...everybody is using "polish programmers" (alt+closest latin equivalent to get those symbols)
What's funny, the only manufacturer with "typewriter" layout as standard was...Apple (not very popular in the past, now more so, but...I seem to notice that many people choose standard qwerty option when getting Macs)
(yup, might as well be demoscene/warez group hack, expecially since it was on warez compilation floppy (in this country that was the only thing available...the concept of copyright didn't even exist until ~1992))
PPS. Oh my, I just had a reveletion as to the purpose/history behind this game - this must have been a plot by catholic church to discurage sex or smth...
Basically it was a variant of Q*bert ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q*bert ) where Q*bert was replaced by representation of...penis and enemies by...yep, vaginas.
Why "perfect game for/. crowd" you ask? Well, Q*bert-inspired gameplay wasn't modified much, so when penis touched/entered vagina (with a suggestive sound, as far as SID capabilities went) you actually...lost a life.
PS. Frustrating that I can't seem to find it even using the title - Spermen (but I might remember that wrong)
I would want to because, while, yes, multi over LAN/net is preferable in many situations...there are always social moments when multi on one machine is the best thing imaginable.
In my case approach of Stardock worked the other way - I have boxed versions of Both Galactic Civilisations and GalCiv II...and I even not really into 4X strategies! (though GalCiv II might be changing that, not sure yet...)
I wonder if they sorted out availability of Sins of Solar Empire in EU...not only I'll buy this game because it DOESN'T MESS IN MY OS (similar to..."scene" cracked versions of many other games), but I might actually like it a lot.
hm, I would constitute "browser" in what you're saying with..."software".
OF COURSE Opera has limits, as any other SOFTWARE. Thing is, with Firefox I rutinelly hit into limits (what's funny, not so much with supposedly "bloated" Mozilla Suite/Seamonkey). With Opera - extremelly rarelly. And that's on a 5 year old machine (btw, over 100 tabs now open, works perfectly)
Actually...it won't even start on such hardware, so it's not like I have a choice:>
That said, I'm one of those for whom medium/low can be ok...though I'll probably upgrade very soon (mostly because I see one of the last mobos with four PCI slots, and I'd like to keep using my PCI cards while beeing able to easily add modern HDD or GFX, even if definatelly for few months I'll be using gf6100; wonder how that'll run HGL;) )
Well, I'm not really into roguelike games (with occasional exception of Iter Vehemens ad Necem). Might be shocking, but...I think I find them too...limiting. Mostly about basics, similarly to why I can't stand Diablo I (yep) because of its "only 8-directions" movement.
Hm, I was under the impression that page preferences apply to everything you, well, see on a current page (and it's subpages), no matter the actual url...
I might be wrong of course (for example because sites I visit aren't affected)

Ahhh, Sperme*r*.
;)
Thanks, I guess

Ahh...you just reminded me of Heroes of Might & Magic 3 (hot-seat multiplayer)
Gotta digg up the box with this masterpiece...

Is that way MS initially put blue background into their "business oriented" w2k desktop, to keep those overworked drones awake? :p
For some reason Apple gave up on blue in latest OS X...oh, and blue is sort of default for KDE...hmmm

With 1GHz I'd still choose Opera - definatelly feels _much_ more snappy with many tabs open.
Viking horns case...wish I could find this one here :> (forgotten ;) country in central Europe)
I, for one, welcome our robotic Tux overlords.

Yeah, it's on my list of "games to check"
:P
Can't really do it yet, still on DX 8.1 class GFX card

It's...interesting how state of affairs in two most popular browsers influences opinions about "what should be done" (and was done...)
BTW, aren't GFX operations embarrasingly parallel...so there should be that much problem here?
"Before" Big Bang doesn't have any meaning.
Yeah, still...even in single, when I don't have connection to the internet. Or when friend borrowed me his HL2 with addons...
:p
Blizzard better release some proper game, I'm staring to look really anachronic
Awwww, how cute, another Opera feature.
