Really, it doesn't matter that much anymore. What they really should be concentrating on is reliability.
I mean, the Hitachi HDD division(sp?) is the old IBM HDD division. And they haven't that good of a track record (even though I owned a few IBM's and had 0 problems)
So, is this one step closer to those flying cars that were promised to us eons ago?
I mean, the only flying car I've seen is K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider (brilliant series btw), but then again, the car didn't really fly and from what I've heard, they had to replace parts every time they did a "Turbo Boost"

than a stupid idea after the 9th September."
I believe you mean 11 september, thanks, no run along to play
Same goes for the Athlon, the computer shuts itself down.
I believe you were refering to the Tom's Hardware movie where the AMD heatsink was removed and the cpu turned itself into the useful sidekick of Powdered Toast MAN!! (from Ren & Stimpy). But the cause of that problem was the mainboard, it had no overheating protection, so the cpu is not to blame.
I don't mean to give them a +1000, Innovative. +500, sure:D
They designed a cpu that's a much better workhorse than that of their competitor (Athlon), then they did it again (AthlonXP) and again (Opteron/AMD64)
That's innovation from where I'm standing. I know Intel has a lot more different products, but they use those products more as cashcows, trying to milk as much money from it as possible before the market demands something new.
Congratulations to AMD, they've been more innovative in the CPU market than Intel (which is a big feat in my book) They've also setup a big solid state memcard department (I'm dutch and can't remember the correct name for it right now) which is running along nicely as well.
I hope they can continue keeping up the good work, they deserve it.
Ok, this is damn cool, especially how he plays out some scenes from the game:)
I can recommend the game to everyone too. Right now I'm playing it again at the Europe Extreme setting (no health, no extra ammo and an option to get game over when somebody spots you, bloody hard)
My hat goes off to this guy, I wish I had more free time myself like he seems to have ^_^
Actually, you're wrong. I work in a dutch school (www.stc-r.nl), we also train people to design ships, they use a cad program called Nupas (www.nupas.nl). This program also comes in a linux edition and it is widely used too in shipdesign companies (at least in the Netherlands).
Dude, I would rather have an ethanolplant fire than a nuclearplant exploding. If this technology becomes mainstream, the world will also be less dependant on all of the oil that comes from the middle-east.
I know, hence the sarcasm :)
I don't think the server market uses IDE drives that much, but then again, I'm not in that business so I could be wrong :)
"would be nice to buy 12 of these, setup a raid 5 to give you a nice 4GB!"
12x 400Gb= 4800Gb = 4.8 Tb (and I haven't even calculated the raid thingy yet)
Anyway, me thinks it's more than 4 Gb

I'd rather see MS getting a knee in the groin.
Not that I'm bitter or anything....
Ok, what if I send some US-based companies/people spam. Since I'm from the Netherlands they can't really do anything about it, right??

I really hope "Oh, was that my outside voice?" wasn't in there ;)
Every time someone mentions hamsters I always think of EBICHU THE HOUSEKEEPING HAMSTER

Very funny anime series

Why yes, yes they are fun to play with
This actually isn't flamebait, if he expects that, ok. He's entitled to his opinion, right??
:)
I don't think it will happen so fast, but ok
Ok, so to do my part, I'll boot to my Slackware partition (instead of XP) and run that all weekend :)
:)
But seriously, weird "holiday" but enjoy it

Note though, that every country has his own design on one side and the "universal" euro design on the other side.
I think you're supposed to swallow the pills, not stuff them down your c*ck

Does anybody else see the irony in this ?

In a few months, I'll be :)

I'm not sure about autocad though.

Ah the Royal Canadian Mounted Private Dick eh :D
Read the article?? isn't that very unslashdottian??
