Too bad for MS that the dollar is financially weak at the moment. I mean, it's "only" +/- 507293667 euro's at this moment. Is it possible for MS to wait with the payment until the $ and the euro are about 1:1 again ??
If they manage to get the fighting engine working well, they might set a precedent for 3D beat-em-ups.
From what I've read, the Bullet-Time option will kick in when you've landed the killing blow on your opponent, wasn't it much more cool if you could activate Bullet-Time during battle, like in Max Payne. I guess it's really hard to do in an online game, who should be moving in bullet time, who should move in realtime, will spectators outside of the Bullet-Time area be viewing a really slow or really fast fight?
Dude, I'm not a Linus fanboy, don't know jack shit about linux. I'm not a zealot of any kind. I've got a slackware 9.0 install gathering dust on a 5Gb partition, For most of my time I'm an XP user (don't shoot me), mostly for games and movies and a bit for work.
Somehow Transmeta will always have a warm place in my heart. Don't know why, but I really like the company and praise them for what they are trying to do.
1 Ghz is not that fast, but for normal work, it's more than enough.:)
Ok, I love the packaging with the cow motif (if they are still using that), but that's all I like about it.
I had to set up a gateway computer for my uncle a few years back, used the restore cd's and Windows kept f*cking itself up. I could blame Microsoft for this one, but the horrid restore-menu-architecture was the source of all my anguish.
This and not having an internet connection handy really ruined my day.
Has their software improved over the years, anyone??
I think it's better to take everything that Bush says seriously.
Hitler wasn't taken seriously either and he turned out to be a great danger to the world.
I know, it's an unfair comparison, but still valid.
Sure, a loser that's offered a job by a big company during bad financial times.
In my eyes he's a winner because he is willing to work for a company like Microsoft to put bread on the table for his partner and maybe even kids.
Yup, if he's a loser, then so am I.
I'll take care of my family too
Mother Russia ?? ;)
(I know I know, Russia is not in the EU, I'm dutch for chrissake)

I wonder how long it will take to write a "energy-equivalent" virus? That could have really terrible effects.
"Bruce Sterling has been writing on the cutting edge of SF for close to thirty years now."
Ok, what is cutting edge in sci-fi ??
Biting the troll:
You think Windows is usable now ??
I think this is great research, it could give paraplegics (sp?) etc the possibility to walk again with mechanical limbs.
Or am I wrong ??
I don't know about Apple, but Zalman already has surround sound headphones, maybe Apple can license this technology ??

But on-topic on "the achievement": I'm impressed and hope that he will make a nice bootable floppy for that tool so that I can use it if I need it.

I remember that in Final Fantasy 7 that you could even score love points with Barret.

Funny though.
Finally a potentially good system for fighting terrorism.
I hope this software has the desired effect.
Subject says it all.

This is probably the closest you can come to mindreading with technology so far
Let me be the first to say

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
But seriously, they shouldn't name that stuff so dangerously. I can understand the confusion.
Some research should have been done.
Fun though, this made my day

"But note: if the goal is to "legitimize" p2p so that artists get paid, how would you do it?"
hehehehe I read that as
"But note: if the goal is to "legitimize" p2p so that artists get laid, how would you do it?"
Dirty mind is a joy forever eh ???
