Well, native Taq polymerase is available from all major suppliers(Invitrogen, Stratagen, QIAGEN, etc), as well as different modified recombinant Taq derivates (NovaTaq, AmpliTaq, MasterTaq) - there's nothing remotely resembling a monopoly here. Of course, several recombinant polymerases are patented (HotStart, AccuPrime System, Platinum Taq) - but these are not as nature made them, but heavily modified and optimized systems.
Shielding and structure have to be sufficient to withstand reentry anyway, so they should withstand the load peak during railgun acceleration. Or are we talking about a fundamentally different load pattern here?
Wouldn't it be possible to use some kind of maglev rail for initial acceleration and takeoff, thereby abolishing the need for a separate turbojet stage and significantly reducing weight?
Of course I heard of best practices... And you quite accurately described the way I handle my WinXP box. But my point was that even that won't give you absolute security - god only knows which exploit will pop up in windows next week.
I thought murderers were supposed to be tried and sentenced, not slaughtered to sate your rather frightening desire for bloody revenge (what kind of God-fearing Christain are you?)
Yeah, I suggest removing all CD/DVD/Floppy and whatever drives and ripping the network cable out of the wall. Better yet, disconnect the power supply... Voila - secure system.
Wouldn't the dust clog the air jet as well? Electrostatic coating would be more interesting. But there is another problem - the first major dust storm would grind down the surfaces of the solar cells, reducing their transmission and efficiency. One could probably devise a way to prevent that too, but I fear you would quite soon run into weight limitations.
i want monsters so big, they swallow your character, who has to blast his way out of the monster's gut, but not before having to fight with some tapeworms from hell.
You, Sir, have a seriously twisted mind. I fear for you.
Doppler shift should not be a problem, you can always determine the shift rate from the known frequency of certain absorption lines in the spectrum and reference your spectrum to those lines.
preparing the grounds to "deal with" opposition on phony accusations, perhaps? Fortifying their base of power by suppressing opposing thought, perhaps? - Just my 0.02$...
Well, considering the way some people continue to beat particular dead horses here on/., one cannot fail to wonder if they do that to make them more tender... kind of foreplay, like...
I made the terrible error of clicking... Be assured that I will not rest until I have hunted you down and brought you to justice. My wrath will be terrible, my retribution swift!
Absolutely right. But you have to blame ESA for focussing their public relations mainly on Beagle. Now everyone is believing the whole mission failed, whereas in reality, the main scientific gain would have stemmed from the orbiter measurements anyhow. The European mission is by no means failed. If anything can get us data about possible water on mars, then it is the penetrating radar of the orbiter.
ok, it is bad style to reply to your own posts, but i have something to add on a more serious note. This may cause problems. In Germany, the police are known to cause artificial traffic jams on highways to stop people trying to get away in their cars. Several police cars occupy all lanes of the highway and start slowing down until a jam occurs. Nice thought... But up to now there were several deaths due to people crashing into the end of the so created traffic jam. And, note, the people affected were not the perps, but totally innocent ones who happend to notice the jam to late. I wonder if the proposed system might lead to similar occurences, which, in my humble opinion, are totally intolerable.
Harden your car against that system... and if the police are on your tail - hack some of the civilian cars behind you to cause a mass carambolage - instant getaway. Hackers heaven! I for one welcome our new remote controlling overlords!
Yeah, but I hate to break it to you: you're not the majority. How many non-football fans watch the SuperBowl each year because of the commericials? A lot.
Huh? Really? People's oddities never cease to amaze me. S'pose I should go out and talk to people more often.
Hey - if you can't bash M$ based on any of this, you might try bashing the french, the democrats, the republicans, arguing pro/contra gun control or advocate the libertarians. There are so many popular troll contests going on at the moment! Sign up and join one!
OMG... What a fscking trollfest. C'mon guys - the article's about fusion. Fusion. The future. Not the fscking past. Not about France, Iraq or whatever. What about some basic decency? Ahh, and staying on topic??? Calm down, everbody!

Yeah, but keep in mind that IN SOVIET RUSSIA, your new overlords' displays might roll up you...
ok, ok... i'm going...

Obviously a follower of the old testament...

Poor zombies... will be hard for them to get their fix...

Nope. Wrong. DNS is screwed up and can't resolve the adress. Darn... They should have remembered the IP.

difficult, difficult... Of course that WARNING is there... but it also makes curious... And rest assured - I have Javascript disabled now!

On a second thought... I believe I shouldn't.

What is this "sun" thing you all are talking about? My memories are going dim...
