    Most people i know have tried cegega and aren't impressed. they claim it's both tough to install and even harder to configure correctly.

    i haven't tried cedega myself, but a simple apt-get install wine has worked perfectly on most systems i use.

    So it's not really *ALL* Linux, it's just that particular version of Redhat.

    It seems best to wait and see the paper they publish as well as a track record of funding and test conditions before anyone goes and says something about validity.

    Besides, as knowledgable as the Linux community can be, I'd trust an IT proffesional over a "Linux fan" with a server in his basement.

    Is the motivation to reform copyright based on a real desire to be more fair or is it because the music industry is not as big there?

    i might get modded down for this but the thing i find most interesting is that so many of the points being attributed to software-development in the article seem to be applicable in any project in any environment.

    i help out in a school district and every single meeting i go to has me thinking about the same types of things. who is in it for education's sake and who just wants a feather in their cap?

    maybe it's more of a human element that just happens to be looked at here in the context of programming.

    i think this is wonderful news. it looks to me like uncle sam finally sees that VOIP needs to be left alone in order for it to prospoer. look at how POTS was regulated to death and you see how important it is to keep VOIP free and clear.

    Imagine the amount of rendering you could do with that thing. It'd be like having a bazillion artists painting pixels for you. How long until Pixar and co jumps on the bandwagon? This type of technology has some amazing possibilities ergo it would be no suprise if commercial support came about very quickly.

    It stands to reason that fixme notation is source code serves a purpose in all forms of programming and therefore it is a detriment to the community if we get rid of it. As long as M$ insists on behaviour like this, they will never be accepted in the FOSS world regardless of how many silly toolkits they put on sourceforge.
