Actually, Memorial Day is for fallen soldiers and Veterans Day is for all who served (living and dead). Just because someone didn't die doesn't mean their effort was wasted.
From the VA.gov FAQ:
Q. What is the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day?
A. Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered on Veterans Day, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty. A complete history of Veterans Day, and why it is observed on November 11, can be found on the Veterans Day History Web page.
Having said that, as a veteran, I don't really care if Google does anything with their logo. It does seem like an easy way for good PR, though.
You are right, but the show isn't about the way things really are. It's about the way people think things are. That's why it's called Mythbusters. The myth isn't that some will survive due to random mutation. The myth is that roaches are impervious to radiation for some reason. I know, you'll say that that is obviously not true. That is correct, and that is also why most of the myths on the show end up being busted. Myths aren't based on facts they are based on sensationalism and ignorance.
Probably. Bioware can probably keep some distance from the EA crapmachine, but Pandemic is about to go the way of Digital Illusions (Battlefied 1942 developer).
Haze. The PC and 360 versions have been shelved at least for awhile. The game should be great since it's made by Free Radical, but with the 360 getting Halo and PC gamers being consumed by UT3 the PS3 is probably the best place for it.
I know PS3 gets UT3 this fall as well; however, Haze should fair better against it on the PS3 over the PC.
Then don't choose random webpages. If you are presented with data from Kook U or MIT choose the MIT result. Just because your searching doesn't mean you have to choose randomly among the results. Google Scholar is also a fine resource.
I agree. Wikipedia is great for a quick look and for finding more niche/pop culture subjects. I use it to get a start on research then immediately follow its sources or Google interesting info for more solid documentation.
While I find their goals admirable, I think they're overestimating their viability.
The obvious answer is they want people to buy Vista. The truth is that it should be called cross-grade. I had Win XP Pro and *graded to Vista Ultimate. I like Vista; haven't had any problems with it, but it's just not worth the money for the average user. I've been asked by a couple friends what's better about it. Answer: I don't know. It has a few flashy graphic additions. Oh, it works better with my 360 but still doesn't work with Xvid (rumored fall update). This is what Microsoft's new tag line for Vista should be:
Vista: It's New. ..er! Now with even more of the same but in Mac style!
One can only assume the exclamation marks will make people buy.
I think the news here is that Bioware is planning a trilogy (I don't know if it was announced before or not). Those of us hoping for an epic SF story have something to look forward to. Bioware's good with the story element so we may see some depth. If they meet their intentions this should be an awesome interactive graphic novel. Though the valley of hype, guarded by John Romero's roving and restless soul, is littered with the bones of those who have failed. Keep your fingers crossed.
Simple fix. Get Dom Joly to deliver a guy in the sad penguin suit to the store. If that doesn't get the message across have him deliver another one every day till the store is full of penguins.
I agree. I upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP Pro. I haven't had any problems so far. The update process went smooth and all my software still works. My system is faster than it was with XP Pro but not significantly. It's Windows. Nothing really fantastic about it. It looks nice, but that's not particularly important.
I paid $20 due to an agreement between MS and my university. That's about what it's worth. I like it better than XP--a little--but it's really a marginal upgrade at best.
Let's not forget that George Costanza's favorite name was Seven. Maybe the great new feature will be to remind us to shine up our Festivus poles. For the feat of strength you could wrestle a penguin.
Maybe electric companies convert to a usable measurement like Library of Congress' or width of human hair. I know mine comes as a percent of how many dollars it would take to circle the earth.
I believe G.B. did, at one time, say that if they don't beat Unreal 2 then there is something very wrong.
But not nearly as cool as fighting wars via huge robot boxing matches like in Robot Jox. Man, what a, uh, well, what a moving picture that was.

No, when you search there are a few different engines listed with radio buttons to choose. ChaCha is selected by default. Google is right next to it.

This device doesn't allow you to see any dead people. Not even a little bit.

Torrents? I think you mean "Torrentz." The Z makes it kewl.

The RIAA will send a settlement letter to your parents to forward to you. For only $5000 you can continue to live with your current DNA.

The problem is Sony, MS and Nintendo will not allow AO games on their consoles. Gotta blame the ESRB and hardware companies for this crap.

Joel: We'll be right back after this important message.
Tom: (whispered) Let's go. Okay. Got the box. Ready? Cue.
Joel: Hey kids!
(bassline from movie begins)
All: (singing) They're Wild Rebels,
crunchy, fruity rebels.
Pouring milk on them
is like shooting off a gun.
Joel: (spoken) Wild Rebels cereal, the nutritous cereal that's like getting hit on the back of the head with a surfboard of flavor!
Tom: Look, marshmallow Fatties!
Crow: Sugary Lindas!
Joel: I got tangy, twangy Banjos!
Tom: Crrrunchy Oat-Rods!
Crow: And Jeeters, too! Die Jeeter, die!
(bassline stops)
Magic Voice: Kids? What are you doing in there?
All: (innocently) Having a good breakfast, Mom!
(bassline begins again)
Crow: Pour on the milk!
Tom: One, two, one two three four.
All: (singing) Wild Rebels,
punchy, crunchy rebels,
don't bust your teeth on
something sweet and hard!
Joel: (spoken) Wild Rebels cereal, part of a complete breakfast.
Crow: Hey! There's a cheap surprise inside!
Joel: I got a gun!
Tom: I got a sawed off pool cue with a leather strap!
Crow: I got a chunk of hose filled with lead shot!
Tom: All right, let's take it home!
All: (singing) They won't get soft or squishy,
better eat 'em or your a sissy,
just pound 'em down, you stupid clown,
they're Wiiiiild!
Joel: Wild Rebels cereal, just eat 'em. (movie sign goes off) Whoa! We've got movie sign!
One of my favorite songs from the show.

It stinks!

Way too many. Here's one of my favorites, though.
From: Pod People
"Oh, man, this guy's got renaissance faire written all over him."
(Man pulls out a crossbow from the front seat of the car)
"Huzzah!"

It's not anything new to consoles either.

I'm trying to figure out what the point of this story is and how the hell it got posted to

There is a Too Human trailer on Xbox Live in the E3 2007 category. Still there as of right now if anyone is interested. Looks ok.
