You do know that alot of music isnt produced by the RIAA right?
The other fact is that in alot of cases, the RIAA has a defacto monopoly on representing big labels that are signing artists. If you want to get radio play in Canada and the usa, you need to be on a major label. So obviously most mainsream music is owned by the riaa, and if you only listen to the radio thats what you are hearing.

What most people I know do however, is find music through alternate channels. The last album I downloaded was by Lady Sovereign. Why would I want to download hanson, or whatever is popular today, when I can get way better bands from all over the world?

The problem with people like you is that you are shilling for the record industry, reinforcing their view that only the music that they own and they control is desireable to download. This is simply out of touch with reality.

Perhaps it is the occasional bad steak that makes the good ones taste better. Eliminate the occasional, or even regular, bad steak and the good ones will normalize out so that they wont be "really good" anymore and will end up being normal.

Their president is either a very very good liar (I dont believe engineers are), or his statements about nuclear bombs being 'ways of the past' are true. He doesnt even really hate america, although he thinks that they are on the wrong course (who doesnt). North Korea on the other hand have nothing to lose and are, even if only based on rhetoric, a psycho force to be feared and delt with.

"They are acting like children at the grown ups tables."

You better lighten up there son, there is nothing "grown up" about the way america has acted in recent years. Dangerously adolescent comes to mind, or if I was in a more hatefilled mood, psychopathic. One who has no regard for others and uses them only for his own gains, without empathy or remorse.

In western countries, its the womens choice whether to have the baby. Don't believe anyone if they tell you the man has any say what so ever. The argument then becomes, well if youre willing enough to sleep with someone then you should be willing enough to raise a family with them. I disagree with this, as I am sure most other people of both sexes would. So your question is how to elliminate relationships from going bad. Buddy, if you ever find a solution to that, please don't keep it to yourself. It's a similar question to "why do bad things happen?". Its unanswerable, they just do. For more reasons than there are stars in the sky.

    Some creative flamebait answers
    - Force all pregnancies to be supervised and agreed to by all parties, else aborted by the state.
    - Perfect contraception.
    - Give financial benefits/tax breaks to people who stay with their families.
    - Reinstitute christian or muslim moral values into the fabric of society.
    - Give fathers a legal say in whether a child can be born, disempowering women.
    - Give away all control of upbrining children to the state and leave the slaves^H^H^H^H^H people free to do work.

This is kind of worrying to me, because if they are tracking that, what else are they tracking? Do they log keystrokes too? would they admit it if they did?

Don't get me wrong, episode 1 and halflife 2 are great games, but when I heard about the level of data logging that they do, you cant help but be a bit scared.
