Until someone pops open the case and attaches the drive to a USB header on the motherboard. Physical access means it's only a matter of time until a creative user finds a way to own a machine.
I'm afraid wikipdia is going to fade into obscurity with their push to view themselves as more professional. I always found the home grown flavor of wiki interesting, now they are claiming that having a trivia section in an article is beneath them. I feel like having a group trying to shape the growth of wikipedia is completely counter to what it was founded as.
It makes perfect sense from their perspective, they are trying to increase their profit margin per console sold so why would they want to lower the price to consumers at the same time and negate the drop in manufacturing cost?
What power does the EU ultimately have to enforce the fines at this point if MS simply doesnt pay the fines: Are they prepared to ban the importation of MS products and quit the MS Windows habit cold turkey? I can't see many businesses appreciating being deprived of a standard business environment/tool such as Windows or Office. I'm fairly ignorant of EU politics but is there enough strength in the political system to push an embargo though and make it stick?
I bet the failure of a whole generation of consoles would be almost as funny as inevitable market downsizing and reduction in future choices if such a downturn took place...
A decision as drastic as effectivly gutting half the university isn't going to be decided and announced in a day. A proposal as broad as this would have been considered for quite some time before announcement, I'm suprised there weren't any leaks or rumors ciculating beforehand. I'm sure there are many students left pondering their fate this evening and my best wishes to them, I only missed their plight by a matter of a year or so...
Wow, this must be a fairly recent decision. I received an admission letter for the undergrad EE program less than a month ago. Guess this solves my dilemma over whether to attend Tulane or not post Katrina...
Please folks, lets skip the/. Anti-M$ rhetoric and be objective. The semi-rural elementary and middle school I attended were entirely Mac systems with nary a Windows box to be encountered, and I'm not sure my school systems student population ever recovered. Despite whatever technical superiority mac might have over Windows, 99% of the average suburbia public school population won't encounter more than one or two macs outside of the school enviroment. Why not try and give the non-college bound students a nice foundation in what they will encounter in the workforce? Once they leave HS, their education is finished. Instead of some largely useless mac skills, if they have been exposed to Windows for 13 years, K-12, hopefully they will have picked up at least the basic skills needed to be functional in the workforce. Once you get to college, your free to choose mac, and hopefully if your college bound you'll be able to make the jump from Windows to Mac relativly quickly. I might sound a bit bitter, but it really sucked having HS classmates who couldn't perfom simple tasks in Windows and having to do it for them.
I'd give it even odds that Interplay is just fishing for investments to try and save the farm. Isn't it odd that it is only now after years of cries for a new fallout game they propose one but insert the buzzword "MMORPG"? One has to wonder if they are trying to show potential investors they have a viable product with heavy fan demand (eg. Look at level of interest in a new fallout game over the years, its a license to print money!!! Its one of those "lucrative" MMORPGs like UO or EQ no less!!!) Sounds custom fit for an investor pitch to me. I can't help but think Interplay is completing the slow implosion that has occured over the years with less and less blockbuster projects.
Quickest guaranteed way onto/. Games is to claim you have an "authentic" list of Xbox2 stats. I'll believe a list when I see something with a bit more evidence to back up its authenticity than just a couple paragraphs of assorted stats with no clue where they were obtained at. I'd don't want a name, just something to give me a little confidence before I get worked up over the capabilities.
Just something to think about, but with most telcos you can transfer a number if you move houses locally. With a VOIP if you move to a location without BB avalible locally then you will probably be out of luck trying to transfer your VOIP number. It would be quite a hassle for me to make sure everyone I knew had my new number, change my cards, etc.

Is that a server in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Wow talk about gutsy, posting a link to a 100mb file hosted on your own person server!
What the heck is a "1.37 per cent license fee"? Is that 1.37 cents per console/controller sold or a typo and 1.37 percent of some unspecified number?

Of course if this is a number you use a lot, Murphey's Law is sure to kick in when you move! ;)
Yes but if you move were there isnt broadband available then you are probably completely screwed.
