Well, Dont know the future of blogging, but the nature of it surely resembles something like what Rent-boy Renton describes : "I don't feel the sickness yet, but it's in the post. That's for sure. I'm in the junkie limbo at the moment. Too ill to sleep. Too tired to stay awake, but the sickness is on its way. Sweat, chills, nausea. Pain and craving. A need like nothing else I've ever known will soon take hold of me. It's on its way. " and KABOOM! You start blogging!

When the hell people would understand that book is what characters THINK, and movie is what your characters SPEAK!!

Writer writes a book, not script/screenplay of a movie. So, a movie based on the book can not be SAME AS THE BOOK EVER!!! It is a completely different medium - to tell the same story.

A book leaves it to the reader to imagine how characters, places look. Hence it is a very personalized product for the reader. Movie leaves little left to imagination (in this context). It can not be as personal as the book might have been.

That is the reason why most of the movies based on very popular/cult books have been largely disappointing to the fanboys - just because it is not what THEY imagined/visualized it. And they are never going to be satisfied with the movie based on their favorite book. If one can not figure how great (and also faithful) LOTR movies have been to the book, well, H2G2 is a far cry.

  16. Only windows can kill windows on Linux Can't Kill Windows · · Score: 2, Interesting

Linux has a geekey feeling to it. Probably, Joe sixpack will never have means to replace his PC with a Dell packaged linux, either due to his lack of geek-ness, or due to penetration of windows in his (and everybody else's) mind (unknowinlgy).

Its upto Windows now to kill itself - by exposing itself to hacks, viruses, trojans. If the situation reaches to a point where windows is *completely* f*cked-up, then may be linux will see more and more interest - being the only cheap alternate to ship somehting to Joe.

    1. There is no 'story' in H2G2. I do not even think it was meant to be a story anyway.

    2. In all of its form, only the theme was the same, not the presentation/execution. So, why can the movie not be different? It carries on with the tradition of H2G2 - no two versions were ever same.

But agree to the point that it should have been a triology.
