I also tried to do the same thing last year. Except that I'm Canadian.

I recall the screenshots of Linux on the HP netbooks being very good-looking. Is Dell doing such a thing or are they just sticking plain'old Ubuntu on their Inspiron Mini 9s?

edit: holy hell, either Slashdot's CSS is messed up or something's wrong with Safari 4. I'll guess the fault is with Slashdot since it's the first website out of 50 where I see any problem.

Guess which one has more total marketshare?

Hint 1: both choices include Windows, so choose carefully.

Hint 2: over 25% of students on campus use a Mac. Grandma using her old Windows 98 PC at home to check email isn't a gamer yet is counted as part of the total Windows Marketshare.

First of all forget Lynx, normal users won't want to browse websites in text mode.

Second, yes Safari needs to be included in that list. See the new Safari 4 Beta and tell me Apple aren't the ones currently pushing web standards the most.

Third, "maybe Opera for people to buy"? You mean like almost a decade ago? Opera has been free for years.

Fourth: you list is missing Internet Explorer. Not that I'm complaining, I'm just mentioning it.

Wrong. All you need is a browser that HTML5 compliant. Safari on iPhone, iPod touch, Mac OS X and Windows can already play video in this manner. Firefox and Opera should also support this method pretty soon, with Internet Explorer 15 also supporting it around 2154.
