    If there going to get you you wont know...and any extra powers arnt going to help....because they have won...because they got us running around like chickens with our heads cut off....and makeing meaningless amendments to laws ...taking away our freedoms and liberties...is what they want and were giveing it to them. one freedom at a time.... you cant fight an enamy that has no face or uniform....PS dont bug me about typos because i hate spelling Nazi's.;)

    You say dont blame microsoft....but here it comes....there selling and pushing the snake oil and developing it and the MPAA and the Riaa and the likes are eating it up.

    I am on 2 duel pentium 200 mx computers with 256meg of ram and and a bunch of old scsi HD's and CD-roms.... works great as a file / printer server...also for some of my SCADA and PLC work no bloat :)

    the one im using to post on has XP pro pent 3... and i also use win2k pro as well on another.

    As far as im concerned one should be able to buy from any download music site... Then put there music on any device with the minimal amount of steps...

    Download form MusicMatch / Itunes / real..ect.

    THen transfer to Mini disk / Ipod ..ect with with
    copy to function. ( file format converted for device automaticly.... ACC to Mp3 or Ogg...ect.

    Also like to add there are to many file formats as well.

    DRM also sucks to.

    1. Just create a short powerfull portable EMP generator.

    2. set up booth were there are lots of paranoid people.

    3. nuke RFID tags.

    4. profit.

    I'm sure there will be a law inplace saying you can't nuke the tags.

    the bottom line what a way to track someone at a airport. train station ect.

    most things wraped up in tin foil wont work just wrap your cell phone up and call your self from another it will not ring.

    All I have to say is anyform of online Licencing system for DRM based Media is bad.

    if you by a DVD, Game ect may be ok for awhile.
    but what happens when you move.. you cant play it.

    your net connection is down or your changeing ISP... you cant play it.

    the company merges or the company goes under.

    May sound bad the Goverment has to step in and make a law stateing if you go under unlock the Media so the users dont get screwed.

    all that stuff you have is no longer usable.

    you might as well burn your money instead because thats what will happen in the end.

    We all will get burnt by this or any other DRM system....

    I have stoped buying EMI music cds (im in canada) and there protected did send a letter to EMI canada saying i wont by any more music from them...Never got a answer back...no surprise there.....but i do find it funny i can buy the record of it no protection at all... record in real time and change to mp3 ogg or what ever the flaver is.

    DRM is Doomed to fail if we educate the masses and refuse to buy the rotten goods there pedling.

    But there is a danger in not reading them....this was in one of M$ EULA...for media player awhile back.

    so i never updated till forced to with SVCPAC 2.

    another words you hand over root and control for the sake of DRM which is somthing i despise DRM = crippled media.

    I carefully read the EULA when they put widows media 9 bundled with SVC PAC 2 ...to me its not part of the OS but what a way to force people to upgrade media player but it didnt include the above parts in the EULA.

    So let me guess they sell shitty OS and now i have to pay to fix it thats like buying a car new car ......with a hole in the rad a leaky transmission and a poorly running engine....the after spending 25K or more on it pay 5k to get it to run the way it should be ....I say charge them for lost production.....reboots BSOD'S Lost files ect.

    I for one find the patents that are given is silly like Clearchannels Live cd patent...how can things like this happen when people have the technolagy and the know how and been done before by others.... even bar bands can do it.. but if they sell at the end of there gig they can get sued by CLearchannel that just plane sucks and is extreamly silly there are a lot more patents that have happened that are just as bad

    There may not be many with a front 1/8 line in on the front but some have a line in in RCA fromat... my Alpine Deck model CDA-7894 has that it is allso a Mp3 player (CD based) and can be used to control a changer that can be loaded with MP3 cds as well for a tottle of 7 disks on tap... I dont mind burning the CDR's my partner has a MP3 car deck (Panasonic) as well not to bad sounding for the price but has no line in

    but don't use it to force other apps like Windows media... Like they did with sp2...
    should not be part of a OS upgrade.

    Easy.
    No operating system should come bundled with anything... it just bloats the system and M$ is pushing WMP10 (in Beta at the moment) and will have (J)ANUS DRM ... and will tell you what you can and canot do and the phone home aspect of it which i shut off...is discusting....also id like to point out in the EULA for WMP (may have changed)

    they wont tell you they just do it according to that and you have to find out what they did M$ that is..... one day you listen or watch you show run some software and the next day it breaks your computer.

    What gives them the right to ROOT access to your computer....and Longhorn AKA paladium will only get worse..... taking control further and further away from the owner.

    On a foot note id like to get more involved with Linux but the fan club here is to quick to make people feel like idiots but say RTFM ect instead of helping and makeing it easer for people to embrace linux.

    which would help all partys.

    and have you writen letters (that is the /, crowd I for one have sent letters to EMI music.
    stateing my dislike against DRM and corupt disks.
    at least i told them that i didnt buy because the disks are DRMed so that is why there losing sales (ops a bit off topic.

    Clear channel patents the process of recording live events and selling CD'S of the show....
    nothing realy new.

    They need to be looked at as a cash grab this kind of patent. Look at eff.org for patent busting.

    for the above its been done for a long time now.
    I for one have been doing it for local acts from time to time.
